Story
Meet Buddy, the charming Shiba Jindo mix with a heart as warm as his soft brown coat! At 1 year old and weighing 13.5kg, this handsome boy is ready to find his forever family. Buddy’s story began on the streets, where he followed neighborhood dogs on their walks, wagging his tail and eagerly trying to make friends. His gentle nature made him a beloved figure in the community, and he was saved from the threat of a dog meat trader. Buddy is a natural social butterfly, both with people and dogs. He’s not shy about approaching strangers for pets and will happily lean in for affection. Whether it’s men, women, or children—even those as young as 13—Buddy welcomes everyone with a wagging tail and even enjoys belly rubs from new friends. The only time he’s shown a hint of caution is around men carrying sticks, likely a memory from his time on the streets. With other dogs, Buddy is equally friendly, always eager to say hello and invite them to play. He gets along best with dogs his size but doesn’t mind smaller pups either. However, if another dog picks a fight, Buddy won’t back down—so a little supervision during first meetings is recommended. He currently lives harmoniously with a cat and shows no signs of prey drive. Buddy has a medium energy level—he loves his walks and outdoor playtime, but once the fun is over, he’s more than happy to curl up and relax. He’s well-mannered indoors, plays independently with his toys, and sleeps soundly. On walks, he can pull on the leash when he’s excited but is overall responsive and easy to manage. While Buddy shows no resource guarding towards people, he can get a little protective of his food around other dogs—understandable after fending for himself on the streets. He rarely barks, only letting out a few excited woofs when he’s thrilled to see you or wishes he could tag along on an outing. Buddy is fully house-trained for outdoor potty only and rides quietly in the car, even hopping in on his own when invited. With his affectionate personality, gentle heart, and playful spirit, Buddy is ready to bring endless love and joy to his future family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll greet you with wagging tails and warm snuggles, Buddy might just be your perfect match! ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to SEA💟 Meet Butter🧈💛 * With People: Loves people and enjoys being petted. Is full of affection and charm, exposing her belly to strangers after is given some time to adapt them. * With Dogs: Is sociable and friendly, carefully approaching other dogs during walks to greet them. Is especially comfortable with familiar dog friends. * With Cats: Stares at cats without any reaction when she encounters them. * Separation Anxiety: Seems to have no separation anxiety against people. Is getting training since she has a bit separation anxiety against the dog with whom she resides. * Potty Training: Does currently pottying on the pad indoors well and is steadily being trained in order to fix occasional mistakes. Goes outdoor pottying well while walking. * Hygiene: Has no resistance even though she has not experienced baths. Is getting desensitization training by being exposed to dry blowing. Touches paws and ears incessantly to be accustomed to it in preparation of the care for paws and ears. * Walks: As she is still too young, she is practicing going for walks once a day. Is very good at walking when she is alone or with other dogs. Is well mannered to walk in steps with the guardian and the other dog. 💌Special Notes💌 * As a puppy, Butter may exhibit typical behaviors like separation anxiety, potty training challenges, biting, whining, mischief, howling, or barking. Consistent training will help her grow into a well-mannered dog. * Her shedding level and adult size are unpredictable as her parents are unknown. * Loves to eat and occasionally eats too fast. Is fed in a big bowl to help her eat slowly. Forster's IG : @sweet_gom

Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi, my name is Asher! I’m a 2-year-old male Shiba Inu Mix, weighing in at a petite 12 lbs. My life so far has been a journey of survival, but now I’m ready to start a new chapter filled with love, kindness, and joy.  I was rescued from a tragic situation in Korea, where dogs like me face unimaginable cruelty and hardship. Millions of dogs are mistreated or slaughtered each year, and I was one of the fortunate ones saved by compassionate rescuers. They gave me the gift of life and a chance to experience something I’d never known before: hope.  After being rescued, I was scared and unsure of what to expect. But with time, patience, and care, I’ve learned to trust and open my heart. Now, I’m ready to leave my past behind and find a forever home where I can truly thrive.  I’m a gentle, sweet, and loving companion who enjoys being around people of all ages, including kind children. I get along well with other dogs and would love a family who can give me the affection and attention I’ve been missing. Whether it’s a stroll in the park, a cozy snuggle on the couch, or a car ride to new adventures, I’ll be by your side, making every moment special. What I Need: I’d do best in a home with a family who understands that rescued dogs need time to adjust and blossom. To make my transition smoother, we recommend working with our skilled pet rescue trainer, who can help me settle into my new life with ease. My Adoption Details: Fee: $1,495 (tax-deductible and essential for supporting future rescues) Includes: Spay/Neuter DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccinations Deworming and Heartworm testing Microchip Boarding fees, health certificate, and airline transport from Korea to Seattle For safety, all adopted dogs must have a GPS tracker or Apple AirTag. You can bring your own or purchase one from us.  When you adopt me, you’re not just giving me a new start—you’re helping save other dogs still waiting for their miracle. Your support allows Ginger’s Pet Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to continue its lifesaving work and provide critical medical care for animals in need. Contact Us:   Email  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  to request an adoption application or to learn more about me. Donations to help with vet bills at Greenwood Vet are always appreciated—they make rescues like mine possible.  I’ve come so far, and now all I need is a loving family to call my own. Will you be the one to give me the happy ending I’ve been dreaming of? February 25, 2025, 6:26 pm

Story
Hi there, I'm Sensei! I may not be a martial arts master, but I've definitely mastered the art of playtime-once I've had a little time to warm up to you! At 11 years young, I'm looking for a peaceful home where I can relax and enjoy my golden years with a loving family. I can be a little sensitive to new environments, so I'd do best in a home with patient humans, preferably older kids (16+) who understand that I need time to adjust. I also prefer to be your one and only pup-I like soaking up all the love and attention for myself! If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share quiet moments and playful ones too, I just might be your match. Let's meet and see if we're meant to be!Sensei is currently in foster care and not at the shelter, if you would like to visit him, please email adoptions@kitsap-humane.orgSensei's Ideal Home:- Children over 16- Only Dog Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 26.2 Age: 11yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Buddy is an adorable Shiba Inu with a heartbreaking past. He grew up in a home where he was loved before, but unfortunately has had an experience of being abandoned, leaving him with a pain in his heart. Despite his past abandonment, Buddy is very loyal and forms a strong attachment to his owner. He is not shy or timid around strangers and he shows his charming and loving side to those close to him, especially to his owner. He is less interested in interacting with other dogs, and he has a natural instinct to protect his owner when other dogs approach. Because of this, you need to be careful in public places such as dog parks and be careful not to let other dogs around you get too close. Buddy patiently takes baths and will happily get brushed as well, and while he tends to pull on the leash excitedly on walks, he is currently in training and is expected to gradually improve. He can sometimes act selfishly with his toys so he needs an owner who can teach him the right behavior through training and reinforcement. Buddy, who has a jealous nature and a tendency to follow only his owner, should be raised in a home as an only pet. It is also advisable that he should be adopted by someone who understands the characteristics of Shiba Inu. He needs an owner who will form a deep bond with him through continuous training and love. If you are ready to welcome Buddy into your home, he will bring you special love and happiness. To see more videos:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyEuMiuW6Ww4Jl3J1CCMCIBINbfi-gsTN
