Story
Lizzy is utterly stunning. However she is also smart and energetic and needs a home that is up for action. If you jog, walk several miles a day, enjoy hiking on the weekends or would want a potential dog for agility or other sports Lizzy could be your girl. She will definitely Netflix and Chill in the evening but she is all about the fun during the day. She is very friendly and outgoing and is learning to curb her enthusiasm as she wants to meet EVERYONE. We will be requesting that adopters be willing to work with a trainer some initially to help Lizzy and you get off on the right step. If you think you are interested in her please submit and application.

Story
Honey is so sweet but very energetic! She loves attention and has become a bit anxious because we cannot provide it consistently. We got her from a family that was not expecting to have puppies and did not have much time to research the breed combination. She loves to play fetch and tug of war and loves other dogs. She hates having her Nails trimmed. She has a bad habit of jumping up on people in excitement but responds well to consistent treat training (again, just no time!!) She has her crate, some putoddor fencing, toys etc. will only be rehomed to someone who can devote time, love, and energy to her!

Story
Rosie is a senior Shiba Inu who ended up at Animal Control after her human passed away in her home, and no one knew for some time. Her extended family tried to keep her for a few days, but she can be a bit snappy with people she doesn’t know. When the DC SIR Volunteer picked her up she was put into a crate for transport. She doesn’t like crates and let everyone know. When her foster dad picked her up at the transfer location, she snapped and snarled. Luckily, her new foster dad didn't have a crate and allowed her to lean on him and cuddle on his lap on part of the drive. Fortunately, her foster parents have worked with fearful and reactive dogs, so they knew how to build gain her trust. She can go in and out to their backyard to potty without issue. She loves all the yummy raw food her foster parents give her; she can gently take treats from them, but will growl if she thinks they might get too close. Her foster parents see that she is a sweet girl who needs savvy adopters who will take the time to earn her trust so that I can feel safe to be herself. She may not be a big cuddler, but she can bring happiness to a family that will take the time to give her a loving home.
