Story
It is so hard to believe Jinsook has not been swooped up for adoption! She is now one of our Diamond Dogs, which are the pets we highlight as the Diamond in the Ruff seeking their forever home. Her adoption fee has been reduced to $125. Jinsook (aka Jinny) is a 43 lbs. and 13 years old. She was surrendered to a shelter by her owner. She's now living the good life in foster care while she waits for her new family. Jinny is living with 3 big dogs (male and female) and gets along well with all of them.  Don't let her age fool you; Jinny has some pep in her step and is still quite playful! She enjoys her morning walks, with or without other doggies, and is good on the leash. Jinny is a sweet, affectionate lady who enjoys being petted. She is house and crate trained and has free run of the house when her foster mom is away from home. She does not get on the furniture (although she is allowed to do so and is capable of jumping on the couch).  Jinny would do best in a home without small children or cats. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on heartworm prevention. You can apply to meet/adopt her here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Meet Coda, a playful and adventurous 6-year-old Shiba Inu/German Shepherd mix! Coda is about 34 lbs of pure energy, with the independent nature of a Shiba and the loyalty of a Shepherd. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s healthy, up to date on all her shots and vaccines, and ready for her next adventure. Codaâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s big brown eyes light up whenever she sees a kayakâ&#194&#128&#194&#148sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a natural water dog who loves swimming and spending time at the lake with her humans. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s always ready for outdoor fun and snuggles when itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s time to wind down. Coda is a high-energy dog who thrives on playtime and outdoor activities. She loves running around the yard, chasing toys, and splashing in the water. While sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s great with kids and adores people, Coda prefers to be the center of attention and doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t like sharing her space, food, or humans with other dogs. Because of this, she would do best in a home where she can be the only pet and have all the love to herself. Coda is well-behaved on a leash and is house-trained, making her a great companion for both active adventures and quiet evenings on the couch. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a fantastic cuddle buddy and enjoys snuggling up after a fun-filled day. Weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re rehoming Coda because she hasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t been getting along with our older dogs, and we want her to have the loving, one-pet home she deserves. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion, apply to adopt Coda today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Coda, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Sudo is a very sweet 6-year-old 20lb Purebred shiba inu. We have recently decided to rehome him in hopes of finding a single-pet family or a family that can give him extra attention. Sudo, in general, has very high anxiety and it appears he naturally dislikes men and prefers women (he is more relaxed with women and always has his guard up with men, not sure why, he has always been like that since we adopted him at 4 months old). We have other pets in the house, another dog and a cat, but he has territorial needs that make a single-pet household more ideal. While he does behave a bit aggressively he has not injured or bitten any of the other animals, he just gets hyper protective of his space and treats around the cat. He does have very high anxiety and sometimes has panic attacks (sometimes triggered by loud weather, sometimes for no reason), which we had a vet prescribe him sedatives to relax him. Overall, Sudo is very very gentle, especially 1:1, and is incredibly sweet.

Story
Meet Yasmine, a gentle and affectionate 2-year-old Shiba Inu mix weighing 37 lbs! This well-behaved girl loves to play with her toys and is house trained, making her a perfect companion for an active household. She’s confident and always seeks attention from her humans. Yasmine gets along great with both dogs and cats, and while she hasn’t been tested with kids yet, her gentle nature suggests she would be a great fit for a family. She walks nicely beside you on a leash, although she may pull a bit when excited. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and playful dog to brighten your days, Yasmine is the one for you!

Story
DFW Area: Meet Nanuk, an 8-year-old, 40-pound, neutered American Eskimo mix. Nanuk is an incredibly sweet, mellow dog who gets along with other dogs, is cat-friendly, and shows no interest in chasing squirrels! He came to us through a member of the NextDoor community who couldn't stand seeing Nanuk spend his life confined to a kennel 24/7 due to lack of time for him. Despite this neglect, Nanuk has no behavioral issues. He's house-trained, uses a doggie door for his business, and has formed a special bond with his dog buddy, Shadow. Nanuk is a calm, quiet companion. Nanuk does have a mild case of conjunctivitis in his right eye, so he requires occasional eye drops and oral antibiotics. He also needs regular grooming, including fur and nail trims every 6-8 weeks. We're seeking a loving, responsible home committed to caring for Nanuk for the next 10-12 years. We also ask that Nanuk be included in your estate plan. Nanuk can never be kenneled again after his past experience. A home with access to a doggie door would be ideal, and he should never be left alone. Child compatibility unknown but problems are not anticipated.
