Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Nurungji Age: About 2 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shiba – Jindo Mix Color: Brown and White Weight: 16kg / 35lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued with my family after we were found wandering on the dangerous streets. Now I’m safe, grown up with love and care, and ready to find a forever family of my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Nurungji, a gentle and thoughtful soul who just needs a little time to open my heart. When we first meet, I may seem shy, so the greatest gift you can give me is patience and space. If you move slowly and let me come to you, I promise I will. I’m well-mannered in many ways—I can get in and out of the car by myself, rest calmly in a kennel, and walk beautifully whether it’s a busy city street or a quiet forest trail. After a fun walk, I love to pause, sniff the air, and enjoy peaceful moments in nature. I may be a cautious dog, but beneath that is a kind, quiet heart waiting to trust deeply. With patience, understanding, and love, I’ll become a loyal and truly special companion. If you’re someone who can walk slowly with me and enjoy the quiet beauty of growing trust together, I’ll be waiting for you.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a bit cautious around new people. I’ll happily take treats, but I usually need a little more time before I feel comfortable. Once I open up, I can be held in your arms. With patience and understanding, I’ll become a loyal and loving companion. · With Dogs: I’m a very friendly dog! I love walking up to both familiar and new dogs to say hello and invite them to play with me. I’m generally friendly with dogs of all sizes — bigger dogs, dogs around my size, and even smaller pups. Dogs with very high energy can feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I tend to do better with calmer companions. But, I tend to rely on other dogs and feel more secure when I have a dog friend around. I’m more relaxed and confident when I’m not alone. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have low energy level – I enjoy a peaceful and relaxed lifestyle. I’m happiest when I can rest quietly by your side. I do enjoy going outside, but after a bit of fresh air and light activity, I’m quick to settle down and relax again.I have lots of experience on walks, so I don’t pull on the leash and I follow my person nicely. I’m the perfect companion if you’re looking for a calm, easygoing pup to share quiet moments with.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food — not from people and not from other dogs. I’m very easygoing at mealtime.I’m generally a very quiet friend and rarely bark. When I’m placed in a kennel, I stay calm and settle down nicely.I know how to hop in and out of the car all by myself!I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outside. I’m flexible and can adjust to your routine.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I tend to rely on other dogs and feel more secure when I have a dog friend around. I’m more relaxed and confident when I’m not alone. Sudden approaches, being picked up, or hands coming over my head can make me uncomfortable, so I feel safest with gentle, predictable movements. Because of this, I would do best in a calm home that can match my pace—rather than a busy environment with fast movements.   Nurungji's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2689912##

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Ceci Age: 4 months old Gender: Female (Spaying to be scheduled) Breed: Shiba mix Color: Brown, White Weight: 4kg / 8.8lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a crowded city pound. I’m not sure what my life was like before that, but even though I was just a young puppy, I was placed on the euthanasia list due to lack of space. Thankfully, kind rescuers saw me and stepped in just in time to save me. Now those uncertain days are behind me, and I’m ready to begin a brand-new chapter with a loving forever family who will cherish me and help me grow into the amazing companion I’m meant to be.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutering to be scheduled   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet young pup who’s full of curiosity about the world around me. Everything is new and exciting, and I’m learning a little more every day. I’m even cuter in person — photos and videos simply don’t do justice to how handsome I really am! Staff and volunteers are always telling me what a pretty boy I am, and I happily soak up all the compliments. I have a bright, gentle spirit and can’t wait to share it with my forever family.     MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m very friendly with people and love approaching them with curiosity. I enjoy receiving pets and tasty treats, and being close to humans makes me really happy. During my profile photoshoot, I happily climbed into the laps of staff and volunteers, soaking up all the attention and affection I could get. · With Dogs: I love greeting new dog friends and playing with them! Playtime is one of my absolute favorite parts of the day. I enjoy running around, having fun, and making new canine friends whenever I get the chance. It’s always such a happy moment for me! · With Cats: My full reaction to cats is unknown. When I see cats during walks, I bark at them a little bit out of curiosity. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level and enjoy a wonderful balance of activity and relaxation. I love exploring my surroundings, taking in new scents, and soaking up the sunshine during my outdoor time. After a nice walk or a bit of adventure, I’m more than happy to come inside, relax, and snuggle up for some cozy downtime.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m still working on my leash manners, but I’m improving day by day and learning quickly. I don’t guard my food from people, though I can be a little sensitive if other dogs come too close during mealtime. I’m generally a quiet pup, but I might bark occasionally when I’m hoping for a little extra attention. I know how to rest calmly in my kennel and am comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors. Like a typical puppy, I have my fun bursts of energy — sometimes I get the zoomies and run around with excitement — and then I happily settle down for a cozy nap afterwards.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • A family that understands I’m still a young pup and will need continued guidance in socialization and basic obedience training • A family that is understanding of my love for food and willing to guide me so I can learn to be more patient when other dogs are nearby   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a sweet boy with a soft heart and so much love to give. I’m friendly and curious about the world around me, always eager to explore and learn new things. I have a warm and loving nature, and I truly enjoy being close to people and playing with my dog friends. With time, love, and guidance from my forever family, I know I’ll blossom into a loyal and devoted companion who will fill your days with warmth, comfort, and happiness.     Ceci's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2683589##

QUICK FACTS Name: Joel Age: About 4 months old Gender: Male (Neutering Scheduled) Breed: Mini Shiba Color: White, Brown and Black Weight: 4kg / 8.8lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was on the list for euthanasia at a crowded city pound when kind people rescued me just in time. I am now safe and ready to meet my forever family and start a new chapter of my life!   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutering scheduled & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Joel, a lively and energetic puppy who’s always ready for fun! I’m curious about everything around me, so I’m rarely sitting still—there’s just so much to explore in the world. Sometimes when I get corrected, I might grumble a little under my breath before listening… but I’m still a sweet and obedient pup who truly wants to follow my people. I’m very gentle by nature and love being around humans. I’m a pup with lots of potential, a playful spirit, and a very lovable personality. With the right guidance and love, I’ll grow into a wonderful companion.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I am very outgoing and love to greet people, even strangers! I can be pet and be held in your arms, and guess what? I’ll even show you my belly! I haven’t had the chance to meet children under the age of 13, but I think I love them already! · With Dogs: I don’t only get along with people, I get along with all dogs too! I enjoy playing with dogs of all sizes and I love saying hello to all my friends! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have high energy level – I really enjoy outdoor activities like walks, playtime, and exploring. When I get enough exercise and fun outside, I’m happy to come home and rest calmly. After a good adventure, I settle down nicely and enjoy relaxing time with my people. I’m still very young, so I’m still learning my walking manners. I’ll need a little leash training and guidance. With patience and practice, I know I can become a great walking companion.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food from people, but I may be a little sensitive if another dog comes nearby. I might bark to let you know when I really want something. It’s just my way of saying, “Hey, I’d love that, please!” With a little guidance and routine, I can learn better ways to ask for what I need. When I’m placed in a kennel, I might whine a little at first. It’s just my way of saying I’d rather be close to my people. With patience, reassurance, and a cozy routine, I can learn to feel more comfortable settling in my kennel.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Since I’m still a puppy, training will be very important for me. I currently use pee pads, but I’ll need continued potty training and leash training as I grow.    Joel's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2683587##

Story
Hi… my name is Maesil 🍃 I’m a 1-year-old Shiba × Jindo mix girl, about 10kg — small, bright, and just beginning my real life. I was rescued from a dog meat farm. Since the day I was born, I knew metal bars and loud, unfamiliar noises before I ever knew gentle hands. I spent more time enduring than learning, more time surviving than living. So when we first meet, I might be just a little cautious. But it’s not fear that fills my heart. It’s more like I’m softly asking, “Is this okay? Are you safe?” With one treat and one kind voice, my question melts away. I’ll carefully step closer… and before you know it, my tail will be wagging just for you. --- Once I open up, I’m actually very affectionate. I love sitting close beside my person, looking into your eyes, and asking for attention in the sweetest ways. It almost feels like I instinctively know how to love — I just needed the chance to show it. I get along very well with other dogs my age. I enjoy playing and being part of a group. My energy is bright and healthy, and I carry a natural cheerfulness inside me. And walks? I absolutely love them. When I step outside, the whole world feels magical. Every sound, every breeze, every scent on the ground — it’s all new and fascinating. I haven’t been out in the world for very long, so everything is a discovery. The street noises, passing people, the wind brushing my fur… it’s my first time experiencing it all. --- That also means home life is new to me — living inside a house, learning potty routines, understanding daily rhythms, spending time alone calmly, and learning the rules of living with people. No one has had the chance to teach me these things yet. So I will need patience. I will need guidance. I will need someone who teaches me slowly from the very beginning. But please don’t worry — I truly want to learn. I listen. I pay attention. I try. If you guide me with love instead of scolding, with patience instead of rushing, I promise I will grow into a stable and trustworthy companion. --- I’m still young, and I’ve only just begun my “ordinary” life. I’m waiting to become someone’s joy — someone’s walking partner, someone who shares the start and end of each day. Will you be the family who teaches me all my firsts? Will you fill my world with love instead of fear? If you walk beside me from the beginning, I will stay beside you for the rest of my life. 🐾🤍

Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Hi… my name is Holly. Before I even had the chance to understand what the world was, I was standing at the edge of losing it. I was on a euthanasia list. I didn’t know what that meant — only that everything felt uncertain and scary. But someone gave me another chance. Now I’m here, waiting for you. I’m a little shy at first. When I meet new people or step into new places, I like to pause and watch from a small distance. I just need a moment to understand that I’m safe. If you give me that time, I promise you’ll see something special — I’ll slowly walk closer, maybe sit near you, maybe rest quietly by your side. I’m not the kind of girl who rushes in with big, dramatic affection. I’m the kind who loves deeply once I trust you. Because I’m a Shiba mix, I’m observant and thoughtful. I notice your tone, your mood, the way you move. The less you rush me, the faster I open my heart. I get along well with other dogs too. I don’t push to be the center of attention — I prefer to read the room and join gently. I’m only 10 months old. I’m still learning what it means to live in a home. House rules, walks, playtime, rest — these are all things I’m ready to learn with you. What I need most isn’t pressure to be perfect. I need patience. Consistency. A calm voice that says, “It’s okay, Holly. Take your time.” If I can grow up in a stable home… If someone calls my name softly each day… If I can build trust little by little… I will become a steady, loyal, deeply devoted companion. I’m looking for a family who appreciates quiet connection. A family who understands that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. A family who will cherish the moment when a shy dog finally chooses to lean into them. I was once almost out of time. Now I’m waiting for my forever. Will you hold my paw and show me that my world can be filled with safety instead of fear — with love instead of uncertainty? I’ll be waiting for you. 🐾
