• Rescue Story: Meet Ellong 👋 Ellong was found on the streets of South Korea in 2018 and rescued just moments before euthanasia. Against the odds, she survived—and in 2021, she finally found what we all believed was her forever home. Sadly, after four years of being part of a family, Ellong was returned to the shelter. We were heartbroken and confused to hear that she was said not to coexist well with another dog—after four years together. Despite this painful chapter, Ellong remains one of the most well-behaved and gentle dogs at the shelter. She carries no bitterness, only quiet hope. We truly wish for Ellong to find a real forever home this time—one that will stand by her, cherish her, and never abandon her again💛 • Personality: Affectionate, Gentle, Friendly Ellong is full of affection and loves people. She adapts quickly to new places. Energy level is mid-low. • Affinity with - Dogs: Does well around other dogs - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: Great with all people / Hasn't experienced kids, but we believe she would be fine with calm older kids. • Housetrained: Uses pee-pads indoors and the bathroom outdoors. • Walking Manners: Loves sniffing around on walks. • Bathing/Brushing: Good with both • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: Quiet • Car Rides: Good with car rides. • Appetite/Food Allergies: No food allergies found so far • Likes/Dislikes: Loves belly rubs the most! • Shedding level (1~10): 6-7 • Health: Ellong is suspected to have grade 1.5 patellar luxation. Meet Happy the Shiba!He always looks like he's smiling and laughing, but his life wasn't always so joyful. He was frequently allowed to roam the streets in a local inner city, and recently was picked up by animal control limping with several lacerations and a deep wound on his back leg, possibly his by a car. After weeks of treatment he's finally completely healed and ready for a responsible permanent home. Even before his injury, this poor guy suffered in pain for many years due to untreated entropion in both his eyes. You know how painful it is getting an eyelash in your eye? Imagine all of your eyelashes constantly scraping your eyes for you whole life. He's had surgery to correct the issue and is so much more comfortable- no more painful squinting and irritation to his eyes. We think he's about 3-4 years old, around 35lbs, and he's looking for a Shiba-loving home that understands the catlike quirks and escape artist tendencies of the breed and will keep him safe. She's a very loving dog who's also very quiet -- she almost never barks, and she's very playful as well as being great with people, dogs, cats and kids. She eats in nibbles so food has to be broken down for her. Otherwise she's a wonderful addition to any loving home.

While she shows curiosity and allows some touch from new people, caution is required as she may nip. With familiar people, she enjoys physical affection. With Dogs: Gets along very well with other dogs and especially loves puppies. With Cats: Doesn't pay much attention to cats. Separation Anxiety: Difficult to determine accurately due to the center environment, but she has shown no signs of anxiety so far. Potty Training: Uses pads well indoors and also enjoys outdoor potty breaks. Hygiene: Stays calm during brushing. Needs to wear a recovery collar (cone) when having her nails trimmed. Walks: Does excellently without pulling on the leash. Car Sickness: Rests comfortably during car rides without motion sickness. May nip if a stranger turns their back to her due to fear. Might accept pets from strangers but suddenly nip during the interaction. If her tail is fully up, she is generally receptive to touch; if her tail is even slightly lowered, she may nip. Even while showing affection (like licking/kisses), she may nip without warning. With familiar people, she may give a "warning nip" (feels like a pinch) if they do something she dislikes. Barks at strangers out of fear and defensiveness. Absolutely loves going for walks and treats! Particularly adores the head of Adogs! Is frightened by loud noises or sudden, large movements. Tends to cowered or lie flat on the ground at loud sounds. Gets particularly startled by stern voices or banging on a table. Is wary of unfamiliar people and surroundings, so she takes her time at first. However, once a bond is formed, she shows a lot of affection. Requires some time to build trust and get comfortable.
