Story
Hiro is a loving, energetic dog who does great with people and truly enjoys being active and engaged. I am active duty military, and with my current schedule plus my wife caring full-time for our two babies, it has become difficult to consistently give Hiro the time, exercise, and attention he deserves. This decision wasn’t made lightly, our priority is Hiro’s well-being, and we want to find him a home where he can thrive with someone who has the time and energy to match his needs. We’re committed to placing him with a responsible, loving family and will ask a few questions to ensure it’s a good fit.

Story
Mindy is very special needs. She is fearful of new people and does not like other dogs. However, she loves whoever takes care of her and probably likes women more than men. If someone has a fenced yard and not a lot of foot traffic into the home, Mindy is very good. She is just not trusting of new people. She loves her caretaker and is very obedient to caretaker. Mindy is completely housebroken. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Someone just needs to know her situation and keep her safe. Mindy needs someone who is experienced with dogs and would be careful with her around people.

Story
Hi!!! My name is Polly. So I guess you are here to read about me. I am sweet as sugar. Right now, I'm in a foster home with a 3ft fence and no other dogs. And I'm going to be honest. A 5ft fence would be nice because then I wouldn't have to be on a tie out. I'm ok being an only dog but I really did enjoy having a brother at my temporary foster home. I had sisters too, but I would prefer to be the princess and not have to share that role.  I really love sleeping on the couch and napping. If I'm not on the couch you can find me watching all the birds at the bird feeder. But I'm very quiet. So I'm definitely what they call a basenji mix. I'm learning how to be an inside girl. My first family left me alone in the middle of nowhere. So this is all new. But I've surprised everyone at how quickly I'm coming around. I don't pull on a leash and potty training is going great. I sleep in a kennel at night and when these people go to work. I don't love it but I will do it with a little help.  Because she does cry in the kennel during the day, she would not be a good fit for an apartment. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Polly’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
