You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $300 plus taxAre you looking for a companion with personality plus?  Cheskie may be your gal!  Cheskie was found as a local stray and spent 83 days in impound prior to being rescued.  Cheskie loves playing with toys and will fetchShe is very smart and a quick learner.  Already knows sit, shake and down and will do any or all three for a treat! She is house trainedKennel trainedLoves going for walksCheskie is true to her Shiba breed and is a born hunter.  A home with no cats or small dogs is required for her.  Shiba Inus enjoy being around their humans but usually at arm’s length. They can be aloof and not want or need human affection such as petting and handling.  Cheskie is very affectionate when she wants to be and will give very clear signals when she wants some down time. Here is what she needs: 1.  An experienced owner who can ensure calm, consistent leadership. 2.  No other small dogs, cats, animals. 3.  No kids. 4.  A fenced yard is nice but not mandatory.  She would benefit from walks every day for the routine and discipline (on a very secure short leash and not a retractable), and save the yard as a play reward. She is a true gem! Who will help make her shine? If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotiable. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Charlie is a 4 year old mix Shiba Inu. We got him in February 2021 from a friend. Charlie is the most gentle dog you’ll meet. He is not bother by his older sister and baby brother bossing him around. He does great with kids, humans and other dogs. After a long day of stress, Charlie is the cure. He a bit clumsy but his clumsiness is what makes him unique. He is ok with not being boss as long as he get love and treats. He is patient and could still learn tricks. Charlie is house and crate trained. He sleep in his crate at night and working hours. He eat twice a day. He is trained not to sit on furnitures. Charlie is semi leash train and know basic command. An idea home for Charlie is a loving and caring home. Charlie’s loves to play fetch and toys. With or without other dogs, kids or no kids, he does well.

Story
Simba is 3 year old Shiba Inu. My husband and I got him when he was 3 months old from a breeder in MN. Simba is a shy and curious. It will take time for him to open to you, but we had seen him walk up to people and open up right away. Unlike his older brother and sister, he is the boss in our home and will probably be the boss in your home. Even though being the boss is favorite thing to do, he still acts like a baby, loves attention and cuddles. He loves to explore new surrounds and dog park. He doesn’t like to be left alone. Simba is house and crate trained. He sleep in his crate at night and during work hours. He eat twice day. He is train to not sit on furnitures. An idea home for Simba is a love home who can spoil him with treats and love. He does well with other dogs but would do better in a single dog home with love. He loves to be around his human so lots of TLC is plus for him.
