Story
🐾 Adoption Notice 🐾 Meet Kenny, a sweet and lovable Shiba Inu looking for his forever home! Kenny is 4.5 years old, brought to our home from a farm in Pennsylvania in 2020. He enjoys going for walks, hiking in nature, and playing with his favorite balls. Max is full of energy at times and requires an owner who can devote time to his exercise and care needs. As a Shiba, Kenny can be a bit anxious/territorial at times and may bark when he's scared or nervous, but don't let that fool you – he's a big sweetheart at heart! Kenny is seeking an understanding and patient owner who can provide a supportive and patient environment. Knows basic commands such as sit, down, and paw. Kenny is a very chill dog that acts like a cat most of the time unless he is having a hyper high. He is very protective of his home and doesn’t really play with other dogs. He also has issues with treat guarding and harness touching and can get mouthy.

Story
Roxy, is a 5 year old spayed Sheba Ina/Klei Klei Mix. She is very intelligent and has a lot of physical and mental energy. She needs daily walks and a yard to run around with a good bit of space. House trained, I trained her to ring the bell at the back door to go outside. Yes, she is good on a leash, no she has not been trained off the leash, she is a runner and chases car tires while they are moving. Roxy absolutely LOVES people and children. However, her breed is known not to get along with other dogs and she has a hunting instinct, (absolutely can NOT live with cats). Covid puppy, not socialized with other dogs. She rarely barks inside the house, if you state, "No barking in the house right now." She will listen. She listens almost all of the time even though they are known to be stubborn breeds. Loves toys, balls, tug a war. I love her,I believe with my health issues, and all the kids have moved out, Roxy will be happy in a home where there is more activity and attention.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tank is bonded with Rusty, 10yo, weighs 50-60lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Tank has free roam of the house during the day and sleeps on the couch or on his bed at night.  There are no issues with Tank during car rides.  He does, however, dislike/fear thunder/loud noises. Tank's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  Tank's current guardian is fostering him and Rusty and has been since she rescued them from an untenable living situation in December 2023.  Since their foster provider/guardian already has 2 dogs of her own, she must rehomed them, preferably together. Tank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Tank lives with children, ages birth to 7yo, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Similar to Rusty, he likes to be petted but will typically the just relax/find his own spot". Tank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tank lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "While on walks, he's not too interested in other dogs.  If living in a house with other dogs, I would recommend calm dogs.  I have two small/more active dogs, and Tank doesn't like when they play". Tank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tank hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Tank's guardian describes him as: Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Tank's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Tank gets very excited to go outside, so I would love for him to have a fenced in yard in his forever home.  I would also really like to place Tank and Rusty together.  Tank gets a little anxious/nervous (it took about 3-4 weeks for him to get settled in my home), so a calmer home would be ideal. I would also love to keep in touch/could be a dog-sitter if/when needed." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Gambrills, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
