Story
Tofu (golden) and Taro (black & silver) are both 3/4 Shiba Inu and 1/4 miniature American Eskimo. They are brothers and were born 2/25/24, so they are almost 1 year old. Tofu is about 23lbs, Taro is about 17lbs. I work 9 hours a day Monday - Friday and adding the commute back-and-forth, these energetic and adorable little balls of mischief just doesn't get the attention and stimulation they need. Both pups are loveable boys that get along with dogs, cats, kids, and pretty much anything that breathes. -We are still working on potty training with Taro. He is more comfortable going inside on a puppy pad than outside at the moment, but with more consistent training, he will have no problem going outside. -They will be re-homed with their crate, a box of toys, food, treats, their bed(s) (other than mine), leash, papers, and anything else that will help them settle into a new environment. -Hoping to re-home together, for $600, or individually for $400 each.

Story
My name is Franklin and I’m ADORABLE! I’m also looking for my forever home. I’m just a baby – not even 1 y.o., but some things I know: I’m smart, snuggly, curious, energetic, vocal, stubborn and I love to be with people! I weigh 14 lbs now and I live with my foster family in central, IL. I’m not skittish - I’m a typical crazy Shiba puppy with lots of energy and opinions. I have a high prey drive and I love chasing rabbits in the fenced yard. I love playing with toys and going for walks and sniffing everything. I’m learning to walk politely on leash and not zig-zag or get too excited when I see people and dogs. Since I’m young, my forever home will need to commit to continuing training so I can become a well-mannered adult. Foster mom says that I love the sound of my own voice. I guess that’s a nice way of saying that I can be loud. I’m not a fan of being left alone and when foster mom puts me in my crate I throw a little tantrum until I tucker myself out. (Have you heard a Shiba scream? Google it.) Because I’m vocal, living in an apartment or home that shares walls is not ideal. I’d love a forever family where the people will play with me and keep me company. I'm very snuggly with both people and other dogs. I’d get along with another active dog, and I would love a friend to play with. I do well with the teenagers who live here, but I might be too loud and rambunctious for small kids. Did I mention that I’m smart?! Foster mom says I’m a quick learner when treats are involved. I'm getting the hang of potty training and it only took one treat for me to learn “sit!” And I know how to wait at the door until foster mom says I can go outside. I haven’t been around cats or small pets, but with my high prey drive, it's likely not a good match. I am a healthy boy – vaccinated and neutered. I was born with a grade 4 heart murmur, caused by a VSD (small hole in my heart). The vet told my foster mom that it shouldn’t prevent an active, happy and long life, but I will need regular follow ups with a veterinary cardiologist for monitoring. If you live in the Midwest and want to be my best friend, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA get to know you and your home environment so they can tell if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they'll connect you with my foster mom so we can meet!

Story
Meet Timmy, a shy but incredibly sweet boy who's looking for a patient and loving home. Timmy may be a little reserved at first, but once he feels comfortable, his gentle nature shines through. Unfortunately, Timmy lost his eye due to a chronic eye issue, but that doesn't slow him down-he's just as loving and playful as any pup! Timmy would thrive in a home with another dog to help him feel more secure and confident. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion who will blossom with time and love, Timmy could be the perfect addition to your family. From his holiday foster: "Thank you for allowing us to love on Timmy this past week. He made soo much progress each day. From having to be picked up just to get him anywhere the first day to walking confidently around the block (multiple time a day by his request). He was the sweetest boy and I'm excited he's going back more confident and more ready for his furever home. We do believe he'll be better with a fully fenced in yard. He wanted to be outside constantly and walk around. Allowing him to be more would make him happier. As you know he needs another dog to help him gain confidence, he walked so well with your other dog and she would help encourage him to do things."
