Story
Available for adoption www.VIPRESCUE.org Breed: Shihtzu Mix Age: 9 yr young Sex: Female Weight: 9 lb Color: White/Black Gets along with dogs: yes Gets along with Cats: Unknown Kids: Older, but prefers an adult only home Hey hey hey, who do we have here? Why it’s me, lil’ ol’ Macy girl! I’m the sweetest, cutest, littlest 9 yr young Shih Tzu mix gal you’re eva gonna meet! A few weeks ago, a Good Samaritan found me hurt, thinking I’d been hit by a car and brought me to VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) to get checked out. I had a boo boo on my belly and was favoring my right rear leg. After a thorough exam and X-rays by the “Dog” ter, there were no broken bones and no obvious internal injuries. Once VEG gave me the “all clear”, I was transferred to Animal Services to be placed on a stray hold to give my family time to come find me. Sadly, no family came for me. I was so sad 😢. Then one day this nice lady named “Miss Betsy” (the Director) of VIP Rescue was at animal services picking up another doggie for their “freedom ride”, when she was asked if she had room for one more in her Rescue, me! She came around the corner, and there I stood with my Snoopy stuffie in my mouth. Ms. Betsy smiled and scooped me up for my “freedom ride” to! Yeah! Now that you know my back story, let’s talk about all the good stuff, k? After a visit to our Vet, I headed home with my foster Mommy for some much needed rest, relaxation and recuperation time from whatever trauma happened upon me, but that’s all in the past. My new life began as soon as I was picked up by Ms. Betsy ❤️ I’m an independent kinda gal who likes to lounge around the house with all these doggie beds, I’m not big on cuddles, well, not yet anyway 😉 I also like to hang in the fenced in yard with my foster siblings (with supervision of course) One of my favorite things to do is go on a “pack” walk with my foster friends and foster Mom. I get to do all the sniffies I want! Ha! I’m headed back to the “dog”ter for one final good girl visit to clear me for adoption. Mommy says that’s a very good thing because VIP is going to find me the bestest and safest “fur”ever family! I like the sound of that! I’d prefer an adult only home, one that the human is home more often than not. Oh, don’t forget about keeping me so pretty! (Especially with bows in my hair) I’ll need grooming typically every 6-8 weeks with a cost from $60.00-$120.00 per groom. Please make sure you keep that in mind for your budget! I’m fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, had a dental and am on my heartworm and flea prevention as well. I’m ready to roll! Do I sound like the girl for you? I sure hope so. Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. I sure hope to meet you soon! Licks and tail wags, Macy 🐾 Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue. Story
PLEASE READ THE ANIMAL’S PROFILE AND ALL NOTES BELOW BEFORE APPLYING!   5-year-old Shiba Inu • Neutered • Vaccinated • TRAINING COVERED BY MFP Meet Twitch, a 5-year-old Shiba Inu who just lost the only home he has ever known. After five years with his family, he is being surrendered due to behavioral concerns and a bite incident at home. His owner describes him as friendly, loyal, and a genuinely good boy who needs guidance, structure, and a calm environment to thrive. Shibas are known for being independent, sensitive, and extremely intelligent and Twitch is no different. He has some behaviors that need correction, and with the right home he has the potential to be an incredible companion. What we know about Twitch: • 5 years old • Neutered & fully vaccinated • On flea/tick/heartworm prevention • Friendly with familiar people • Aloof but manageable with strangers • Can be friendly, fearful, or unsure with other dogs • No experience with cats • No current medical issues • Needs a patient, experienced foster or adopter • Has a bite history so no children and preferably someone familiar with the Shiba breed or with experience handling behavioral cases What Twitch Needs Right Now A calm, structured home No kids A foster or adopter willing to work with our team and possibly a trainer Someone patient, dog-savvy, and compassionate Twitch deserves a chance. He deserves someone who will help him decompress and understand the world again. His owner believes he can be corrected and that he truly wants to be a good companion he just needs the right environment. Adoption FEE: $450 which includes his neuter, microchip, and vaccines. It is also a donation to go directly back to us to help us continue to rescue more animals.
