Story
Kenji is a beautiful, healthy and clean 7 year old dog. At home he is very calm but barks at bigger dogs passing by. He cannot be off leash because he would run away. His perfect new home would be with adults only. We wouldn’t trust him with children or strangers trying to pet him. Ideally the new owners would have a backyard or the ability to walk him 2-3 times a day. He is very independent and cat like.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750   Born on January 8th to the ever-devoted Mama Punctuation (affectionately known as Punky), the Punctuation puppies are now 11 weeks old and ready to start writing the next chapter of their lives with families of their very own. Raised in a loving foster home from the very beginning, these pups have had the best possible start— plenty of structure, socialization, and affection. Currently weighing between 6 and 8 pounds, they are expected to grow a bit larger than their Brussels Griffon mama. While the rescue originally suspected another Brussels named Boyfriend might be their father, their size suggests that dad was likely a somewhat bigger mystery guest. Whatever the mix may be, one thing is certain: these puppies inherited their mama’s charm, personality, and zest for life.       The Punctuation pups have settled into a wonderfully predictable daily routine in foster care. Mornings start quietly, but the moment their foster family enters the puppy area, the entire crew springs to life with excitement. Around 7:00–7:30 a.m., the puppies tumble out of their pen for their first potty break and a burst of morning playtime. Breakfast follows shortly after, and then the pups either relax back in their x-pen while mama heads out for her walk or enjoy more outdoor playtime in the backyard.       Like most growing puppies, they operate in enthusiastic bursts of energy followed by dramatic group naps. After about an hour of running, wrestling, and exploring outside, the entire gang collapses into a heap on the dog beds for a well-earned nap. Lunch arrives around 1:00 p.m., followed by more playtime and exploration before a quiet afternoon rest. Around 5:00 p.m., the puppies are back in action again for another lively play session before dinner at 6:30 p.m. By 7:00 p.m., they settle back into their x-pen, with one final potty outing before lights out at 9:30. Impressively, the puppies sleep quietly through the night.       Each puppy already has a personality that shines through, though like most young litters, they share many of the same joyful traits: curiosity, playfulness, and a deep love of both food and fun.       Comma is the undeniable leader of the pack and the boldest, most confident puppy in the bunch. She’s a little ringleader with plenty of spunk and personality. Comma loves to wrestle, play tug-of-war, and generally keep the action going, and she’s not shy about trying to boss everyone around— including her mama, who occasionally reminds her who’s really in charge. After she’s had a chance to burn off that initial burst of energy, Comma has a softer side too. With a full belly and some playtime behind her, she’s happy to settle down and relax with her family. While she enjoys being held and giving kisses, she also has an independent streak and likes to explore her surroundings and see what’s going on.       Hyphen shares some of Comma’s adventurous spirit and is often right in the middle of the fun during playtime. She happily keeps up with her siblings and loves to romp and wrestle, but Hyphen also has a wonderfully mellow side. After the morning excitement or an active play session, she’s content to slow things down and soak up the quiet moments. She especially enjoys snuggling up with her siblings, often piling right on top of the puppy group to get cozy. Hyphen also loves being held and is perfectly happy to relax in someone’s arms. Whether she’s basking in a sunny spot or cuddling with her littermates, she’s a lovely mix of playful energy and calm affection.       Exclamation Point— affectionately known as Pointy— is the sweet, gentle observer of the group. While he certainly enjoys playing with his siblings and batting around toys, he’s often just as happy to sit back and watch the world around him like a little hawk perched on lookout. Pointy has recently discovered how wonderful it is to be held and cuddled, and he’s quickly becoming quite the snuggle bug. Pick him up and you’ll likely be rewarded with lots of kisses and a happy little nuzzle into your neck. Of the three puppies, Pointy is the most easygoing and relaxed, with a naturally calm demeanor that will likely grow into an excellent cuddle companion as he gets older.   Ampersand, aka Amp, is the laid-back observer of the group. While the others may be wrestling or chasing toys, Amp often takes a moment to wander off and investigate something interesting nearby. He has a relaxed, mellow personality and a charmingly goofy look that reminds his foster family of a tiny Ewok— especially when he runs. Amp is happy to play with his siblings and the doodle puppy, but he’s just as content exploring his surroundings or curling up for cuddles. He and Pointy are the most likely to settle happily on a lap for some quiet affection.       All of the puppies are wonderfully social and have been raised around both people and other dogs. They get very excited whenever they see their foster family or their canine playmate and greet everyone with wagging tails and eager curiosity. None of the pups are shy or timid— they all enjoy human attention and affection, even from strangers. They'll greet you with a wagging tail and give little puppy kisses. Puppy breath: is there anything better??       Toys are a favorite pastime for the whole group, especially games of tug-of-war. They are enthusiastic chewers, as most puppies are, and are provided with plenty of appropriate chew toys to keep them busy.       Like most puppies their age, the Punctuation pups are curious, adventurous, and always ready to explore something new. They run, play, wrestle, and investigate the world around them with endless enthusiasm. They also share one universal trait: they absolutely love food and never miss a mealtime. The photographer pulled out some Pupperoni for their photo shoot and all four were obsessed! They gobbled up every bite and then went searching for crumbs. They'd all be great at puzzle toys and 'find it' games.       These puppies will thrive in homes ready for the joyful chaos and commitment that comes with raising a young dog. They will benefit from continued structure, socialization, training, and plenty of playtime as they grow into well-rounded companions.       With their expressive faces, big personalities, and affectionate hearts, the Punctuation puppies are sure to bring laughter, love, and a whole lot of punctuation to their future families’ lives. Each one has their own unique style—whether bold like Comma, adventurous like Hyphen, gentle like Pointy, or mellow like Amp—but every single one is ready to make a lasting impression in the perfect forever home.March 30, 2026, 3:00 pm

With his friendly nature, playful spirit, and easygoing attitude, Whopper is the kind of puppy who fits in just about anywhere. He’s affectionate without being demanding, social without being overwhelming, and always ready to brighten your day with his happy little squeaks and zoomies.   Daily Routine & Life at Home   Whopper starts his day when the household wakes up, heading outside right away for his morning potty break. Afterward, he comes inside for breakfast—he’s always very eager to eat—then often heads back outside for another quick potty trip.   He enjoys a couple of walks each day and does beautifully on leash. He doesn’t pull or bark at squirrels, making outings relaxed and enjoyable. During the day, he’s happy to spend time playing with his toys, exploring the yard, or simply relaxing nearby.   In the evening, Whopper naturally settles down with the family. He’s content to lie on the floor next to everyone or stretch out on an open spot on the couch. He enjoys being close to his people but doesn’t feel the need to be in your lap all the time— though he will occasionally hop up on his own when he’s in the mood for extra affection.   Personality: Sweet, Social, and Full of Puppy Joy   From the moment he arrived, Whopper showed just how loving he is. On his first day, he happily crawled right into his foster’s lap for snuggles and scratches. That affectionate nature has remained, and his playful personality continues to shine more each day.   He truly enjoys being around people and doesn’t play favorites— if you’re willing to give him attention, he’s happy to return the love. He’s also wonderfully entertaining. When he’s excited or playing with a toy, he makes adorable squeaky sounds that perfectly capture his joyful personality.   Whopper is comfortable entertaining himself with a tennis ball or toy, but he also loves companionship and being part of the action.   Play Style & Energy Level   Whopper is a great mix of playful and relaxed. If you toss a ball or start a game of tug, he’ll jump right in with enthusiasm. And when the fun is over, he’s perfectly content to settle down and relax with everyone.   His zoomies are especially adorable— he’ll suddenly burst into playful energy, race after his toys, and put on a show that’s guaranteed to make you smile. Afterward, he’s quick to calm down and enjoy some quiet time.   He also enjoys simple pleasures like sniffing around the yard or sunbathing on a warm day.   Walking & Social Skills   Whopper is a pleasure to walk. He walks nicely on leash, stays calm around other dogs, and does not pull or bark at squirrels. When he meets people on walks, he politely approaches to sniff hello and then settles down nearby while conversations continue.   He has shown wonderful manners with other dogs, including a friendly neighbor’s Labrador, and interacts gently and respectfully. He also absolutely loves children and has done especially well with a kindergarten-aged neighbor as well as teenagers in the home.   House Training & Home Manners   Whopper is well on his way with potty training. He understands that outside is the place to go and does very well when taken out regularly.   Like many puppies, he may sometimes chew on household items when bored, but he responds well to gentle correction and quickly redirects to appropriate toys. This is typical puppy behavior that he is already improving on.   He is generally quiet in the home. He did bark once at the gardener in the backyard but otherwise handles visitors, delivery people, and neighborhood activity calmly.     Why You’ll Love Whopper   Whopper is the definition of a happy, loving puppy. He’s friendly with everyone, playful without being overwhelming, and content simply being part of the family. Whether he’s chasing toys during a burst of zoomies, squeaking with excitement, or quietly relaxing at your feet, he brings warmth and joy wherever he goes.   If you’re looking for a sweet, social companion who will grow into a loyal best friend, Whopper is ready to come home and start his next chapter with you.March 30, 2026, 3:00 pm

They both have lanky bodies and will likely grow to be medium sized dogs. Since settling into foster care, Mac has been busy discovering the world one sniff, one flower, and one sidewalk observation session at a time. He’s a bright, affectionate puppy with a playful spirit and a growing sense of confidence—and he’s ready to bring his joyful curiosity into a forever home.   Daily Routine & Life at Home   Mac sleeps soundly in his crate overnight and starts his day between 7:15–8:00 a.m. with a potty break and a leisurely walk. He usually takes care of business right away, then spends the rest of the walk meandering, sniffing, and people-watching. He’s not in a rush— he prefers to stop and observe the world around him, sometimes sitting in the grass or on the sidewalk just to see what everyone is up to.   After his morning walk, Mac enjoys breakfast served in a slow feeder (he loves food so much that otherwise he’d inhale it!). During the day, he does best with potty breaks every 2.5–3.5 hours, and he’ll let you know if he needs to go sooner.   Afternoons often include a serious nap session— he reliably crashes between 2:00–5:00 p.m. In the evening, he heads out for another longer walk around 6:30–7:30 p.m., followed by dinner around 7:30–8:00 p.m. One last short potty walk happens around 9:00–10:00 p.m., and bedtime is typically 10:30–11:30 p.m.   Personality: Curious, Trainable, and Full of Charm   Mac is an endlessly curious puppy who wants to understand everything around him. He’s very trainable, highly food-motivated, and absolutely loves praise— tell him he’s a good boy and you’ll see his whole body light up. As he gains confidence, his curiosity grows right along with it.   He enjoys being around his trusted people and is becoming more affectionate every day. He will happily settle in close once he feels comfortable. And despite growing quickly, he still believes he’s a lap dog at heart.   Mac also has a goofy streak. If you start running around, he’ll catch the excitement instantly— his zoomies are contagious and guaranteed to make you laugh.   Energy Level & Play Style   Mac is a playful, energetic young dog who would thrive in an active household. He still has a bit of puppy mouthiness, but he responds beautifully to redirection and will happily chew on appropriate toys instead.   Walking & Social Skills   When Mac first arrived, leash walking was brand new to him. He zig-zagged, wandered off the sidewalk, and generally treated walks like an adventure course. With guidance and consistency, he’s made wonderful progress and now walks nicely, especially when he knows where he’s supposed to be.   He gets excited when he sees other dogs and may try to rush over to greet them, but he takes gentle reminders well and is learning polite manners. Once he reaches another dog, he simply wants to play.   Around children and new people, Mac tends to observe from a distance. He’ll often sit down and watch quietly, taking everything in like a thoughtful little spectator.   House Training & Home Manners   Mac is both house-trained and crate-trained, which makes him an easy addition to a structured home. Since he’s still a young puppy, regular potty breaks every few hours will help set him up for continued success. He’s generally well-behaved indoors and rarely barks, except to alert you.   Why You’ll Love Big Mac   If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, highly teachable pup who will make you laugh daily, Big Mac is your guy. He’s curious about the world, devoted to his people, and full of personality. And once you discover his favorite scratch spot—right near his side ribs and the back of his neck—you’ll witness the famous “helicopter feet” as he melts happily into the ground.   Big Mac is growing into an amazing companion, and his future family is going to be very lucky to call him their own.March 30, 2026, 3:00 pm

He’s great with kids, loves other dogs, and is always so happy to meet new people.
