Story
Meet Marionette! DOB: 06/30/2023Weight: 26lbs.Disposition: Happy, resilient, and affectionate dog who has embraced life as a tripod with confidence. She is friendly, adaptable, and gentle, enjoying being around people and forming close bonds. Despite everything she has been through, she maintains a positive outlook and approaches life with a calm, easygoing nature.History: Marionette arrived at Soi Dog Foundation’s shelter on April 24, 2025, following a road traffic accident. Upon arrival, she was found to have a severe open fracture with necrotic tissue in her left forelimb, which required amputation to relieve pain and improve her quality of life.In July 2025, Marionette developed a corneal ulcer in her left eye, which healed fully with treatment. She also tested positive for canine distemper virus (CDV) but made a full recovery after intensive care and quarantine, with no lasting clinical signs. Additionally, she was treated for a yeast skin infection, which resolved with medication and medicated baths. At present day she is healthy, with normal blood work, and moves comfortably on her three legs without pain. She was brought to TBL in February 2026 to find her forever home.Best Home :Marionette would do best in a loving home with a couple, individual or family with kids that understands the needs of a tripod dog. Maintaining a healthy weight will be important to support her mobility, and adopters should be attentive to any signs of discomfort as she ages. A home that can provide regular veterinary care, good hygiene, and a comfortable environment will help her continue to thrive. She would do well with adopters who can offer patience, care, and plenty of love—whether in a calm home or a moderately active one that matches her abilities. Most importantly, Marionette is looking for a family who will cherish her for the incredible, resilient dog she is. Amazing Qualities: Brave, strong, inspiring Marionette’s resilience truly sets her apart. She has overcome significant challenges and continues to thrive as a confident tripod who doesn’t let her past slow her down. Her loving and gentle personality makes her a wonderful companion, and her ability to bounce back from hardship shows just how special she is. Marionette is the kind of dog who will form a deep bond with her family and bring joy to those around her.If you're interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA. Story
Meet Moo!DOB: 07/23/2023 Weight: 48lbs.Disposition: Confident, playful, and energetic boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves to wrestle and romp with his playmates and thrives in the company of dogs who can match his lively energy. Moo is very people-oriented and enjoys being around his humans, showing off his charming and affectionate nature. He’s also a good listener, making him a fun and engaging companion who’s eager to connect and please.History: Moo arrived at Soi Dog Foundation in July 2025 with severe head injuries and nerve damage affecting his face and vision. His bloodwork also revealed anemia and thrombocytopenia caused by a tick-borne disease. In addition, Moo had a claw injury on his left forelimb and a small puncture wound on his head, both of which were treated with daily wound care and medication until fully healed. After being stabilized, he underwent surgery to repair his wounds and went on to make a strong, steady recovery.Today, Moo is a happy dog with a normal blood profile and no remaining signs of anisocoria. He does have mild facial nerve damage that affects his left eye reflex, but it does not impact his comfort or quality of life. While this may lead to dry eye in the future, he is currently doing very well and enjoying life.Best Home: Moo would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his playful, energetic nature. He’d do best with a family, couple or individual who enjoys daily activity, playtime, and continued training to keep his smart, eager-to-please mind engaged. A home with another playful, well-matched dog would be ideal, as he loves to wrestle and socialize with canine friends. He’d also be great with respectful, playful kids who can match his fun energy. Most importantly, Moo needs a home that will include him in daily life, give him structure, and love his confident, affectionate personality.Amazing Qualities: Confident, affectionate, playfulMoo is a bold and self-assured boy who brings confidence into every interaction. He’s deeply affectionate with people, always eager to connect and show love, and his playful spirit makes him a joy to be around. Story
Yuki was purchased by a local breeder who stated that Yuki was purebred Shiba Inu. However, it is unknown since we do not have paperwork to prove. Yuki was born in January 2025. He is currently just a little over a year old. Yuki is very well potty trained and spends most of his time indoors in the cool AC of our home. He never sleeps outside at night. Yuki has only been with one other Shiba Inu in our home who is older and has done well. However, Yuki has never been in close contact with any other dogs so behaviors with other dogs is unknown. Yuki is high energy who loves to play fetch and is very agile. Yuki is a very curious dog and is always cautious with new things or changes. Yuki still needs training with walks, especially with human/dog encounters. Yuki needs someone with LOTS of patience and understanding. With the right training and the right person, Yuki is bound to be truly a lovable companion.

How this pet arrived: Iggy was brought in by their previous owner April 28, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Iggy is a sensitive dog looking for a loving and patient home. She can be fearful and would do best in a quiet household with experienced adopters who understand the needs of shy or fearful animals. With time, patience, and a predictable routine, Iggy has the potential to grow more confident and feel secure in her new environment. She would make a rewarding companion for a dedicated home committed to supporting her journey. At SDHS:Iggy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.Iggy is now ready for her new home!
