Harley did really well in her board and train- she will need a breed savvy owner for proper handling. She likely can have friends if they are the right match- but will likely need to be an only pet.

***LONG TIMER SPECIAL ELIGIBLE! In an effort to help our “Long-Timers” out of the shelter and into forever homes, adoption fees through the end of the year will be $0 for any animal who has been at the shelter for 6+ months. No adoption event or special fee weekend necessary!*** Amill- adult (5 to 8 year old) neutered male pit mix, 65 pounds, house trained, crate trained, good with dogs, not good with cats, good with kids, living in a foster home and has perfect house manners, really sweet affectionate dog. Amill has been living in a foster home for a couple months and he has shown what an awesome dog he is.  This boy is house trained, crate trained, has great house manners (other than barking at animals outside the window) and according to his foster mom, has been a pleasure to have in her home.  He loves car rides and is super friendly with everyone he meets.  He’s been great with the other dogs in the home and has shown no issues with toys and food with the other dogs or with the humans in the home.  He is a velcro dog who is super affectionate.  He is a pretty chill guy who doesn’t require much exercise, so he would be a great dog for a couch potato.  He loves to cuddle on the couch with you while you watch tv.  He does get bursts of energy where he runs around the house and he does like an occasional game of tug of war.  Amill likes taking walks although he can be quite leash reactive when he sees other dogs, which is something his future family will need to be willing to work on.  Other than his leash issues, he really is a perfect dog. Amill has the most beautiful brindle coat and the softest fur!  Amill had several lumps removed recently that came back as mast cell tumors.  After consulting with an oncologist, we were assured these were low grade tumors and they should cause no further issues.  It it common for mct to reoccur, so his future family should be willing and financially able to deal with this if need be.  Amill is an awesome boy and would make an excellent addition to almost any family.  If you would like to meet him, call the shelter at 757-385-4444 or you can email his foster mom directly at karenrph@gmail.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:35 pm

Story
Meet Nebula aka Siren! Siren is a very shy girl who will need some time warming up to her new family. Siren is a very sweet and loving girl. Once she`s comfortable with you she will want all the loving you have to give. We have also seen some bursts of energy from her so expect a hyper and active girl after settling in! Siren seems to be well potty trained but keep in mind she may have an accident here and there while getting use to her new environment. We are asking any children be 10 and older as well as all family members living in the home will be required to meet her before approval! Siren will also be required to be introduced to any canines currently residing in the home to ensure they get along! If you have any further questions please see a kennel technician today!
