Story
URGENT FOSTER NEEDED Chilli is a ~6 month old 30lb shepherd mix who was found tied to a park bench with his brother. They were extremely scared and shut down in the shelter and needed out. Unfortunately hes proven to be more than expected in his current foster home and we are tasked with finding him a more suitable environment. Chilli is indeed a spicy pup - and not in a mean way but a Im a young and active shepherd mix whos never had a structured or stable environment kinda way.He needs a foster whos committed to working with him. He is very smart and has a lot of potential - but he needs someone to step up and meet him where hes at, working towards a balanced and well behaved young dog. Must haves: Detached/Single home - Chilli likes to talk back when he wants something. Patience - let us be clear - this pup needs work. As demanding as he can be, he is also very fearful. He is generally scared of people, doesnt know how to walk properly on a leash, and isnt house trained. Were starting from the ground up. Confidence - Chilli needs a leader. He is a young, high-drive dog that has been left to fend for himself. Hes used to making the rules; its our turn to guide him. Yard - this isnt a sit on the couch and snooze all day type of dog. He is a high-energy breed and needs an outlet ..or two! Different activities will come in due time, but for now a backyard to run around in and work in is a must. In the right environment Chilli is going to be AMAZING - but it wont happen overnight and it wont happen without its challenges. It wont be easy, but it will be WORTH IT. Hes been dealt a real sh*t hand in his short life and he deserves this. If you think you can help him transform - reach out, wed love to chat. *videos on Instagram*

Story
*This dog is fostered in the GTA*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.Stag and his littermate were found tied to a park bench. They were brought to a local shelter, and were rescued. Stag is a very sweet, smart, lovable boy. He has good food drive, has learned 'wait' for his food, his recall is improving (in the yard) and his housetraining is improving everyday. Stag enjoys the company of people, and loves to cuddle on the couch. He is generally quiet in his crate, provided he has had opportunity to burn off his puppy energy. He is fearful of loud noises/new environments, particularly on walks, and so will need a leader that will help him learn about the world. He is making progress every day! He is not reactive to dogs on walks, but is a bit nervous when dogs bark at him. His ideal home would be in a quieter area. He would also do best in a house with a yard, as he enjoys racing around and could do great with other backyard activities like playing with a flirt-pole. He needs a home where they will provide ongoing structure, socialization to new people/environments, and training so he can be the best boy.Name: StagBreed: Shepherd mix Age: ~6 months Weight: ~30lb and growing Sex: Male, neutered Colour: Black Medical: No concerns Good with men: Yes, but shy and warms up quicklyGood with women: YesGood with kids 0-6: Unknown, not testedGood with kids 7-15: Yes, has lived with children and does well - Stag is very people orientated and does well with children, overall. He now typically will want to quickly return to the affection/play. Aggressive or fear based behaviours not observed. Would do best with dog-savvy children. When the dog meets new people he: Approaches cautiously, Wants affection, Loose body language, ShyGood with dogs: Yes, loves being around and playing with other dogsHow does this dog react to meeting new dogs? Very playful and outgoing, Loose body language, Jumpy/overly excited, SubmissiveWhat type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? Stag has done well with the 2 resident dogs. He shows a lot of respect to my XL senior lab, who does not enjoy being jumped on. They can calmly co-exist, with some structure to ensure Stag does not get too unruly. He attempts to initiate play more with my younger resident Husky. Will respond to correction from her if his play style is too much. Needs to be structured to ensure his puppy antics do not become too much for older dogs.Good with Cats: Unknown, not testedCrate training: Must be placed in crate, Settles quickly and quietlyHouse training: Working on it about 75% thereResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Nervous and needs coaxingEnergy level: Medium-highAreas to work on: Needs confidence building, Fearful of loud noises, Excitability/jumping up on people, Walking nicely on a leashWhat type of environments would NOT be suitable for the dog?
