Hiya! I'm Holton, a 30lb Pit mix puppy, and I'm looking for my forever family. I found my way to this wonderful dog rescue after being thrown out of a moving car and suffering a spinal injury. I am mostly healed from that, but now I walk a little funny, almost like I'm drunk. I don't think I'm any different than other dogs, though, so it doesn't really bother me. At a follow-up appointment for my spinal injury, the vet noticed my heart sounded funny, so I went to see a specialist for hearts. They said I have a defect and will require medications for my whole life plus yearly visits to the cardiologist. Luckily, the problem with my heart shouldn't affect my life any. The amazing rescue I'm with said they will cover the costs of the medication and cardiologist visits for the rest of my life so that my forever family doesn't overlook me!
I'm a puppy who is very toy-motivated. I especially like the ones that are good for chewing! I'm already crate-trained and almost fully potty-trained, but will need a patient family who can help me learn to walk properly on a leash. I sometimes think the leash is a toy, so I'll bite it when we are trying to walk!
I would love to belong to a home that has another dog I can play with! I haven't been around cats or kids enough to know if I like them yet but probably should avoid super young kids because I'm still into puppy nipping. Despite my rough start to life, I am a silly young dog who loves everyone and is looking for an active family. If a goofy puppy with a wobbly walk sounds like a good fit for your family, then I'm the pup for you! Fill out an application to meet me ASAP!
All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.
