Story
Edith is a 9-month-old spayed Pit Bull Terrier with a heart as warm and cozy as her favorite blanket nests. Despite her orthopedic challenges, Edith’s joyful and loving nature shines brightly. She’s ready to find a family who will cherish her sweet personality and provide the care she needs. Edith’s foster family was happy to share what makes her so beloved and special. Edith is a professional blanket-nester. She can’t sleep without a soft blankie and loves curling up by the fire, surrounded by cozy warmth and her favorite people. She is an affectionate companion. Edith has a heart full of love for everyone—dogs, humans, and even toys. She’ll happily dole out kisses and thrives on affection and companionship. Edith enjoys the company of social, gentle, and dainty dog friends and is also great with children. She’s a social butterfly with a gentle demeanor. Her foster family shares that Edith is both potty-trained and crate-trained, making her a great addition to any household. She walks easily on a leash and is an agreeable travel buddy, as long as she has her trusty blanket by her side. Edith is a smart girl who knows her basic commands like sit, come, and lay down. She’s eager to please and ready to continue learning with her new family.Edith has faced significant orthopedic challenges in her young life. Her right rear leg had a previous fracture healed as a malunion, resulting in a right luxating patella (kneecap popping out of place). While Edith uses this leg well, surgery may not be necessary at this time. In her left front leg, she has an angular limb deformity caused by premature growth plate closure and elbow joint incongruency (misaligned joint surfaces). A surgical consultation is strongly recommended to evaluate her options for potential corrective surgery. These injuries may result in long-term issues, including the potential for arthritis, which will require ongoing management. Future surgeries and treatments will be the responsibility of her adopter, so Edith’s medical needs should be carefully considered.Edith would thrive in a home that understands her medical needs and is committed to her care. She’s happiest in a cozy, loving environment where she can snuggle up with her people. A family with gentle, social dogs or kids to share her warmth and playfulness would be ideal If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly companion and are ready to help Edith thrive despite her challenges, she’ll fill your life with unconditiona

Story
Drake is a strikingly handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd who’s looking for a special family to match his zest for life. Despite facing some serious medical challenges, his bright personality and energetic spirit remain completely undiminished. This boy is all about living life to the fullest!Drake’s foster mom describes him as high-energy, fun-loving, and the ultimate companion for anyone who loves adventure. He’s a social butterfly who thrives on being part of the action, whether it`s playing with humans or roughhousing with other dogs. He’s even been living with a trainer and her two dogs—both male and female—and has gotten along fabulously. Here’s what makes Drake truly special: Drake has excellent house manners and is crate trained, making him an easy fit for a structured home. He already knows some obedience commands and is eager to learn more. He’s a working breed through and through, so keeping his mind and body busy is key to his happiness. When summer comes around, Drake’s favorite pastime is playing in the sprinkler—he could happily splash around all day if you let him! Drake would thrive in a home with another playful dog who loves to roughhouse as much as he does. Drake’s ideal home is one that understands the needs of an active, working-breed dog. He’ll need plenty of physical and mental stimulation to channel his energy in positive ways. Because of his prey drive, he’s not a match for homes with small animals, but he’ll be an amazing companion for an active person or family.Drake was diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). This is the inability to produce sufficient amounts of pancreatic enzymes needed for digestion. EPI is a chronic lifelong condition that cannot be cured but successfully managed. He will need to remain on a prescribed pancreatic enzyme replacement for life. Additionally, Drake was diagnosed with anaplasmosis, a bacterial infection transmitted by several species of ticks. He was treated with doxycycline which is the typical treatment for tick-borne diseases. He also developed an Immune Medicated Polyarthritis (IMPA) which we believe was secondary to the anaplasmosis. It is imperative Drake`s adopter establish a close working relationship with an internal medicine specialist. If you’re ready to open your heart to this incredible boy and give him the love and support he deserves, Drake will repay you with endless loyalty, fun, and unforgettable moments. Please note Drake resides in a fo
