Story
Hi! I’m Bucky,a 6-year-old girl who's the epitome of sweetness and affection. I love fetch, belly rubs, and hanging out with my family. I’ll happily start a good tug-of-war over a stick or a frolic with my dog neighbors. When I’m relaxing inside you’ll likely find me by you on the couch or in my kennel, which I’ll also gladly hangout in as I wait for you to come home.I love other dogs but I can take a moment to warm up. Once I do I’ll be a social butterfly. With appropriate introductions, a chill space to say hi organically, I’ll be ready to hangout with my canine friends. I just need to feel comfortable and prepared. I haven’t had any cat tests since coming to rescue, so I’m not quite sure how I’d do there and although I don’t currently live with kids, my affectionate nature suggests I could do well. What would my perfect day include? Balls, sticks, a blanket, some time to run and play fetch, but I’m an easy-going girl happy to do much of anything. I could live without the sound of the vacuum and a nail trim, but who wouldn’t?With 15-30 minutes of playtime in the yard I’m golden for the day, and will spend much of the rest of it sleeping or calmly chilling at home.I have no issues with being left alone but will always happily choose to hangout with people. I’m not particularly vocal so could adjust well to an apartment without too much stimuli, and would love a fenced-in yard, but really I’m just looking for a family that wants to love me as much as I’m ready to love them!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Story
Say hello to April! April is a 1.5 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix and 59 lbs of pure energy and affection.April might take a bit of time to gain confidence around new people, but once she does she will be your best friend forever! She understands that her calling in life is to act as her human’s shadow and will go the extra mile in order to not miss out on any action happening at home. This might even include her licking your hair while you catch up on your latest Netflix binge!April is house trained. It is likely that April used to spend most of her time outdoors, so she may need a bit of guidance as to where the appropriate place to go potty is. She has caught on quickly in her foster home, no accidents! April is also crate trained. She does well in her crate at night and while home alone. While April prefers to see her humans throughout the day, she does well when left home alone and has not been known to vocalize or be destructive. She requires a medium level of activity and is content with a daily walk and plenty of stuffed toys to play with! April is a curious girl who would love to have a fenced yard to sniff around in but it is not required.April has enjoyed meeting and playing with dogs in her foster home and does very well. She prefers to have a confident dog around to help teach her how to be the best pup! Ideally, April would find a forever home that has a built-in canine companion but it is not required. When it comes to cats, April has yet to meet one! She has shown signs of a prey drive so a meet-and-greet would be necessary if there is a cat in the household. When April is feeling playful, her energy can be very high! Her play style is all in good fun but this may overwhelm young children as she can get a bit mouthy. She would do best in a household with children 13 years and older.April is ready to meet her forever home! With patience and consistent structure she will blossom into the perfect companion that anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about April and think she might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Story
Luna is a 6 to 7-year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing in at 100 pounds of pure love. She's the perfect blend of playful and chill, always ready for a walk or a cozy snuggle session. Luna's favorite pastime? Enjoying her squeaky toy, Poppy—a pop tart-shaped toy that she loves to gently squeak while relaxing.Luna is the epitome of a loyal, gentle, and protective companion. She forms deep bonds with her family, making her the perfect guardian. While she can be a bit wary of strangers, especially in her home, Luna is working with a professional trainer to manage her anxiety around new people. With continued training, she’ll keep growing and learning to be more comfortable with unfamiliar faces.Fully house-trained, Luna knows exactly when it’s time to go outside, signaling by lying down or heading to the back door. She’s also crate-trained, viewing her crate as a safe and relaxing haven.Luna enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with her foster family's resident pup. She’s friendly with neighbor dogs too, though her interactions are mainly through the fence. Currently, she lives with two teenage girls and does wonderfully with them. However, because of her cautious nature around strangers, Luna might be best suited to a home without small children. She’s also not compatible with cats.Even though Luna is alert to people outside, she's unbothered by typical house or neighborhood sounds, making her well-suited for homes with shared walls. A yard isn’t a must for Luna—she’s adaptable to various living spaces. While she does need calming medication for vet visits, she’s otherwise healthy and ready to be someone’s perfect companion.Luna would thrive in a quieter home, ideally with a single woman or a household with a few women, where visitors are infrequent. She’s a gentle soul who will give endless love and loyalty to her new family.Luna’s past might be a mystery, but her future is bright. If you’re looking for a devoted, loving companion, Luna could be the perfect fit for your home.If you are interested in Luna, fill out an application using the link below to get the ball rolling!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration).
