Story
Nova means new and this amazing dog is ready for her new forever home. Could it be you? Nova just like her namesake is a bright star with powerful energy. Her loving spirit will melt your heart. She just wants to be with her people. She is both a snuggle bug and a playful, funny girl. She knows basic commands and has been a great addition to her foster family. She gets along with her foster brother, they play and share the house space well, but would need to be cat tested. She loves walks, toys (the tough kind), and time with her humans. She is treat-motivated and has continued crate training and leash work in her foster home, of which she has made enormous progress in a short time. She would need a home committed to continuing this work as well as addressing her allergy issues through diet and over-the-counter allergy medication. Her foster parents are Emily Z.    The adoption fee for Nova is $200.Please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Nova. A volunteer will contact you as soon as possible. Click here to go to the online adoption form All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue dogs & puppies are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Dogs have been heartworm tested and if appropriate (age and time of year) all dogs and puppies are given heartworm preventative. All are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. Dogs and puppies are given distemper vaccines and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, additional distemper vaccine(s) may be necessary and the expense will be incurred by the adopter. Any canine over 4 months of age is brought current on the Rabies vaccine. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Dogs are individually priced as above. Please note that we do not ship dogs and we cannot guarantee that a long trip to see a foster dog will result in an adoption or taking the dog home on that day. It is in the best interest of pooch and owner to enroll in an obedience class soon after adoption. After all, you have a lot to learn about your new friend. The Kalamazoo Dog Training Club offers a discount to owners with newly adopted dogs. Enroll before any behavior problems start - you won't regret it! Story
We took tiny in from a family member since she was going to be taken to the shelter. Unfortunately we can no longer keep her, we have a newborn and we can’t give tiny the attention she needs. Tiny is a very sweet girl, she is very playful and knows simple commands. She is crate train and house trained. Tiny is not leash train. She does not have any behavior issues. She gets along with our older children.

Story
Bear is about 3 years old and was rescued by my son from being killed. He was working in a kennel and the county brought an abandoned/lost dog. over the next 2 month my son developed a bond with the dog and could not let him be destroyed. over the last 2 years my son socialized and trained Bear, got him neutered/shots/micro chipped/obidence/potty on comand. My son is now in college with the dog in a small appartment and a college schedule. Both Bear and my son are stressed and this is what is best for both of them. He saved Bear, now he needs to let him go to a better home. Bear's favorite activity is chasing his frisbie and bringing it back to you. He would rather do this than eat treats.
