Story
Meet Tank!Do you enjoy going for a long sniff in the spring sunshine? So does Tank! Tank is a German shepherd who is big enough to require his own zip code, but other than that, he is a loving boy who is pretty good on leash despite his name. When Tank bonds with his people, like many German shepherds, he can become stressed when they are not around. A family with someone who works from home or has short hours might be the ideal match for him. Tank is a dog for someone who likes to skip going through the fuss of puppyhood and adolescence, but is not ready to adopt a senior dog. He is a dog who knows the drill of living in a home and may just need a few tweeks to be right for your home. Something Tank has already discovered is that he prefers to live in a home with adults and older children and does not want to share his people with any other animals. If you would like to meet this huggable lug, please stop by KVHS with your whole family to meet him! Interested in meeting Tank? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Rooney! This dude loves nothing more than fun, playing, and socializing with people and other dogs! He`s a smart as a whip and picks up on stuff very quickly! He enjoys training and loves to show off his little prance when he gets something right! Rooney has been working on his leash manners, learning to sit (Which he is now a master at!), learning auto-sit to help keep his handler engagement, and learning to keep his paws (And mouth) to himself! When meeting new people, he gets extremely excited and forgets his manners (He has baby brain, what can he say!?) Rooney wouldn`t mind meeting future dog siblings. He is although no cats due to chasing them in the previous home. As for kids, Rough and tumble kids would be best suited for this high energy guy, though. When he gets the zoomies, he may accidentally take a kid down, he has no body awareness he also likes to sit on them and at 68lbs that could hurt a little one! Rooney also is in need of a home where someone is always with him, he can go to work with them etc. He has separation anxiety and is destructive when unsupervised, but luckily Rooney loves to ride and go on adventures. Come on down with the whole family (Including future dog siblings) to meet Rooney!

Story
Forrest is large and in charge, and this outgoing strongman will need a handler who`s just as mighty as he is! Some pertinent information to know about this swashbuckling fellow is that he is on a prescription diet called Z/D that helps keep his skin allergies in check. Forrest would also thrive best in a home with no kids under 18, no cats, and no dogs. He`s a bit possessive of his food and toys and isn`t afraid to let it be known he`s not interested in sharing either his things or his humans with other animals. Forrest has been learning how to walk nicely on leash and has been doing wonderful at it in the past few weeks; KVHS staff is willing to show potential adopters the training style we are using with him. He`s a smart fellow...he loves to work his brain and learn new things. Learning new commands, tricks, etc will keep him happy and engaged.Forrest, however, is loyal and loving to his people and will alert them to someone at the door or in the yard. He loves attention and hanging out with his family. He`s also quite the athlete! Walking, running, playing fetch, you name it, and this guy is on it! Rolling Jolly Balls around is his all-time favorite sport! When he`s feeling particularly playful, he`ll even throw YOU the ball or toy to get you in on the game, too! What can he say...he doesn`t want anyone to feel left out!If you are interested in Forrest, we ask that you bring all family members to meet him.
