Story
Meet Donner! This 1-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix is eager for an adventure with you! His smile and sunny disposition will never fail to brighten your day.Donner is looking for a home that’s active and will be committed to teaching him basic commands and manners. He’s a smart boy whose eagerness to please and food motivation makes him the perfect pup—so far he’s mastered “sit” and “shake”! He has done great in a home setting and loves meeting new people and dogs. He’ll do well as an only dog or with a dog sibling! We do not know how he is with cats, but he could have potential to have a cat sibling that is good with cats if the owners are willing to work on slowly introducing them. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Story
Are you all about low-key and chill vibes? Then meet our sleepy house hippo named Bullseye! Due to his kennel stress behavior, we expected he would be a high energy pup — but when he went on his first day trip he was the chillest black licorice block we’d ever seen. He’s been on several more day trips and every single time his behavior outside of the shelter is night and day: stressed in the shelter and totally relaxed in a home environment. Bullseye appears to be potty trained and crate trained. His exercise needs are low-medium and grooming him is a total breeze. Bullseye’s ideal home has a backyard or sunny patio for napping, a soft bed and blanket for more napping, and a cuddly sofa for EVEN MORE napping. We do not recommend him in a home with other animals but he has done great with people and dog-savvy kids. Even if he doesn’t want to live with other animals, he is easy to walk and non-reactive at a distance. He is 1-2 years old and weighs around 60 lbs. Email adopt@yoloshelter.org if you are interested in meeting Bullseye.   His $50 adoption fee is sponsored by Blue Note Brewing Co.! Story
Meet Bolt, a charming 4-year-old black and tan German Shepherd mix currently being fostered. Bolt is a wonderful canine companion with a friendly demeanor, great with everyone he meets, and incredibly food-motivated. He’s easy to walk, not too energetic, and thrives on human interaction. Since arriving at the shelter in November, Bolt has been a bit of a 'hidden gem'—a lovable dog who deserves more attention. During his weekend foster trips, he’s shown himself to be an amazing travel buddy, enjoying car rides, lounging around the house, and going on long walks. Bolt is also non-reactive with other dogs, making him a well-rounded companion. If you’re looking for a laid-back, affectionate dog who is ready to bring joy into your life, Bolt might be the perfect match. Come meet him today and see if you’re the one to give him the loving home he deserves! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
