Story
Marley is a large handsome boy who is well trained and easy going. He is a medium energy dog who does well with a few walks a day or a gentle jog. He'd prefer a mellow lifestyle as he loves to cuddle, nap on the couch (or on a dog bed), and hang out with his humans. He has no separation anxiety so if you need to leave him he's relaxed and happy in a crate. He's also fine not crated (has never destroyed anything) and uses a dog door. Marley is fully house trained, great in the car, and walks well on leash. As with many shepherds and herding breeds he has a strong prey drive, so no small dogs or cats on home. He is well trained, but will need consistency and additional training to ensure that when his prey drive kicks in (squirrel on the path!) he takes his cues from you. His prey drive also surfaces when bicycles zoom past. This is a trait that can be suppressed through consistent training, which is also a great way to bond with him. Marley's foster told us that he is a love bug and knows the commands sit, down, off, up, stay, shake, hold, drop, and his heel release command is 'free.' They also felt that Marley would do best as an only dog. If you love them big, loving, loyal, and eager to please then Marley is your boy! Come visit him at our facility, he's available for foster or adoption.

SUGAR POP

American Pit Bull Terrier

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Sugar Pop! Sugar is looking for her happily-ever-after with dog parents who are willing to help train and socialize her. She has a wary side when it comes to strangers, but with the right amount of treats and loving, she is a total treat to have around. She will make sure to be the most loyal, and goofy best friend you'll ever need. Sugar does great with commands, especially when the treats are available. She is good with most dogs, but would do best on individual play dates to help her warm up to new human individuals. Sugar would prefer an adult only home with dog experience that can give her the TLC she deserves as she works on becoming the confident girl she strives to be.

Story
Riley is a 41 lb, 5 year old sweet girl that is looking for a home that will give her love, stability, a safe space, and training. She has been in and out of shelters for many years, through no fault of her own, and needs a chance to decompress, acclimate, and given the chance to be a part of a loving family. She is highly treat motivated, athletic, and whip smart. She is good with kids, but is a bit rough and would do best with ones that are older and dog savvy. Shy at first, Riley bonds quickly to her humans and does well with slow introductions to other dogs. She is very playful, has loads of energy, but also knows how to cuddle up at the end of the day. As with many shelter dogs, Riley is an excellent candidate for consistent training and a family that can help her reach her potential. Come visit us and meet Riley!
