Story
Meet Mira, a beautiful 5-year-old female German Shepherd looking for a loving forever home.Mira would do best in a quiet home without other dogs or animals. She can be quite shy and aloof with new people, but once you earn her trust and love she returns it ten fold. She thrives on human companionship and needs a dedicated owner who can provide her with the stability and love she craves. A low-traffic environment will help her feel safe and secure.Mira would benefit from positive reinforcement training as she is very food motivated and super clever! She is a sensitive girl who will need someone with patience and a gentle approach to training to help boost her confidence. She can be quite dog reactive and anxious on walks as she unfortunately has had very limited exposure to other canines in her life. She is on medication to help her with her anxiety.Mira is a sensitive soul who enjoys quiet moments and gentle affection. With time and patience, she will make a loyal and loving companion. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Mira, please consider giving her the chance to find her forever family!Apply today!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Visit the BC SPCA Victoria Center to potentially view this pet and apply to adopt in person; ORSubmit an online pre-adoption questionnaire and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit.Due to the high number of applications, we will only be contacting potential matches to further review their interest.PLEASE NOTE that some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Story
Meet Carly! This sweet 12-week-old puppy is full of love and energy! She's affectionate, loves to play with her siblings, and enjoys spending time with the staff and volunteers. Whether she's chasing toys or cuddling up for some snuggles, Carly is sure to melt your heart. If you're looking for a playful, loving companion, she's ready to join your family!Note: As with all puppies, we recommend puppy-proofing your home and preparing for the commitment of training, exercise, and socialization. The more time and effort you put into training now will pay off tenfold when they grow into a giant slobbery member of your family. Remember, adoption is a big decision and lifetime commitment to the dog - these pups will grow into big, strong dogs and will need a family that's ready for the adventure! These pups are not yet spayed or neutered (S/N). Their appointments for S/N's will be in the coming weeks. In the meantime, they are eligible to go into homes as "foster-to-adopts" and can be fully adopted after their S/N.Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Carly's person? Apply today!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting. Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors.
