Mocha is a 6-month-old female German Shepherd who must be spayed before adoption.  She was found running down a very busy and dangerous highway.  No owner came to reclaim her.  Mocha is a very pretty dog who has the classic black and tan coat of a German Shepherd.  She currently weighs 52 pounds and we believe she will be a large adult dog.  Mocha is very loving, sweet, and just wants to be close to you.  We believe she will do well in a home with other dogs; and would be great with children.  Mocha is frisky, playful, and enjoys life!  She is going to make a great companion dog for some lucky adopter. Mocha will bond quickly with her adopter because she is such a loving and 'velcro' dog who wants to be close to you all the time.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  January 2, 2026, 7:29 pm

Story
I’ve had Danko since he was just a few weeks old, and someone had dropped him off in a parking lot when he was just a tiny puppy. He was my first baby, and he has been very spoiled through the years. He has always been more of a reactive dog, and has never done particularly well with children. He is a very sweet dog, but is afraid and reacts because of it. He has never bitten anyone. He loves cuddling, he loves swimming, and he loves eating. He is the perfect hiking companion, and he loves exploring. My husband and I have a one year old daughter now, and due to danko’s uneasiness around children, we just are not comfortable having him around our daughter anymore. While it absolutely breaks our hearts to start this process, we ultimately want to find him a perfect and loving home where everyone can feel at ease.
