Story
Meet Herman, a friendly and affectionate Standard Poodle who adores being petted and scratched. So much so, in fact, that he's known for getting right up in your face, whether he knows you or not, just to get some attention! With his calm and demure nature, he's perfectly happy to take treats from your hand and soak up all the love you're willing to give.Herman does well with other dogs, though he prefers the company of calmer canine friends and isn't a fan of overly hyper pups invading his space. He'd be just as happy as the only dog in his new home or with a mellow companion to coexist with. This sweet boy has perfected the "poodle prance" and carries himself with a gentle, almost regal demeanor. He's also a little bit mischievous and will happily explore every inch of his surroundings, making sure he knows what's going on at all times. Bath time is a breeze for Herman, and he enjoys the company of both adults and children. He's well-leash trained and loves going for walks, so daily exercise with his new family is a must. This gentle and loving poodle will be the perfect addition to any home, ready to bring joy and affection to his forever family.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Lucky, and I am a beautiful Standard Poodle who is 2 years old, and I weigh 74 pounds. I need an active family as I have lots of energy and I prefer small dogs to big dogs. Children over 10 years old would be okay with me. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Standard Poodle, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org.
