Story
Name: Buffy Sex: Femle Estimated Age: Between 8-9 months old (as of 10/13) Best Guess for Breed: Sheltie Mix Weight: About 15 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats and people! Housebroken? Yes, Buffy is potty trained and crate trained. Story: Buffy was rescued from a shelter in South Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Buffy is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Buffy is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Buffy will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Buffy is the sweetest and is really settling in well! She’s almost fully potty trained. She’s fully crate trained and knows to go to her crate if you stand near it and say “crate”. She’s starting to get more energy and show her personality. She’s pretty lowkey but will get bursts of energy where she doesn’t know where to place so she’ll bite on things but will stop immediately when told so. As of now, she’s fairly uninterested in dogs but loves people. I haven’t tested her around kids but I’m pretty certain she would be great. She’s good on a leash but not leash trained, aka walks every which way, but she also doesn’t pull or anything.  The fee to adopt Buffy is $450. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Buffy has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health. If you think that Buffy might be your perfect match, apply today! October 15, 2024, 10:47 pm

Story
Meet Sir Edward! He is (approximately) 6 years old and a 20-25 pounds full grown. Edward is from our most recent hoarding case and dogs DNA tested from the household were a smorgasbord of breeds (Coonhound, Sheltie, Lhasa Apso, Russell mix, etc, etc). Sir Edward is full of life and full of himself! He enjoys the company of other animals and LOVES to play. He has been exposed to kittens, puppies, and dogs of many ages and sizes, but not all love his playful excitement. He is still learning the ways of the world in regards to kennel, potty, routine, and just being a dog. He will need an adopter with patience and the resources to teach him these things. Sir Edward has some herding tendencies, so no young children please. A fenced in yard is preferred - he doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet! Adoption application can be found on our website!
