Hi everyone! My name is Graham Cracker and I'm looking for my furever home. Could it be you? A little about me....I'm a 5-month-old Sheltie currently weighing in at 12 lbs and I'm a real sweetheart. My favorite things to do are chew on bones, chase my foster siblings, and have wild zoomies in the back yard. Because of this, my ideal home will have a fenced in yard. I'm doing well with potty training, but I do need taken outside a lot! Regression can be common in a new environment, so please be patient with me. I'm working hard on my manners, but foster mom says I'm still "all puppy whatever that means, so any kiddos in my new house will need to be dog-savvy and preferably 8 and up. As for furry siblings, I'll need them to be puppy-tolerant since I like to play so much. I'd also do ok as the only dog in the home as long as my humans promise to exercise me regularly. I'm very smart and treat motivated, so training me should be a breeze! I still have my puppy fur for now, but when I grow up and get my big boy coat, I'll need regular brushing and grooming. I'm up to date on all my shots and preventatives and microchipped. In addition to my adoption fee, a refundable neuter deposit will also be required. He is a neutered male who found himself and his 7 (litter mates---maybe not but all sweet dogs stuck in 3 kennels at a high kill shelter inWV)relatives with 2 days to live because the shelter was over crowded. Wags agreed to take River and his 7 friends. River can be a little nervous of new people and would do best in a home with another nice little dog. If you don't have one, he would suggest adopting him and his sister, Lana. River has no concept of personal space and when you are his person, he will want to be very close to you. Because of this, River is not recommended for someone who is likely to trip over a small black dog. How River feels about children is not known at this time and because he is a bit nervous, he is not recommended for small children. River is a happy boy and brightens a room when he is in it. He is doing well with his house manners. He doesn't quite get why dining room chairs are not for dogs and he is really cute when he sits on them. They were owner surrenders which make them the first ones put to sleep for space and things are really crowded in shelters and rescues right now. Lana had been living with lots of friends and when she got to PA, her first foster had no dog and Lana was scared and confused. Lana then went to another foster who found that River was her best friend in WV and River came to live at the same foster home. Lana cannot go to a home without another dog and she would highly recommend adopting her and her BFF River. They are both approximately 1 year old. Best breed guess is Shelti/Spaniel mix. Lana takes a little bit of time to warm up to her new people. Once she does she is super sweet and loving. She is even cuter in person than her photos.
