Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Temple, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Nugget! Nugget is a 12-year-old, 26 lb., Sheltie mix who was surrendered by his owner. He was in pain, struggled to walk, and really needed some help. Nugget was taken into rescue and immediately treated for arthritis and dry eye. He requires daily medications that cost around $150 a month. Nugget received a dental and had 17 teeth removed. He also put on some much needed weight. Nugget has good vision but limited hearing. He is fully potty trained and gets along great with dogs and cats. Due to his arthritis, limited stairs will be required. Nugget walks well on a leash and enjoys being outside. An adult-only or dog-savvy child home is ideal. Nugget is a happy couch potato who enjoys laying near his people and getting endless pets. He loves resting in grass and soaking up sunshine and would really appreciate a fenced-in yard. ** Current location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Phoebe was found on an island called Jeju, South Korea. He was a one-month-old puppy crying alone in a tangerine field. He was rescued by our organization after being placed in a high kill city shelter. He is such a perfect puppy. His current foster parents say he is flawless: smart, healthy, sociable and friendly with both people and other dogs and cats. He's almost done with his baby teeth and has his permanent teeth now, and I'm sure he'll be a great looking dog once he's done shedding. His leg has healed itself and he's not in any pain. Only solution is an amputation but vet said it is not necessary-doesn't affect mobility dog/ people friendly full of spunk and personality. These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They aren't very loud, do not bark a bunch unless playing. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. Very sweet group that would do well with any type of family. They will probably do well with some exercise but a yard isn’t necessary if walked enough. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures.
