Elf is a 1-year-old Shetland Sheepdog/Terrier mix looking for a foster-to-adopt home to support him through lifesaving heartworm treatment. The great news? CCAS will cover all medical care and treatment costs — Elf just needs a loving home where he can relax, recover, and feel safe. Elf’s current foster mom has so many wonderful things to say about him! This adorable boy is smart, active, and eager to learn. He thrives when he has both mental and physical enrichment and would do best with an adopter who enjoys keeping their dog engaged. Elf is very treat motivated and learns quickly — he recently earned both his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and his AKC Novice Tricks title! He’s already a great house guest too — Elf is both housebroken and crate trained.Elf is very social with other dogs and currently lives with four canine foster siblings (two large and two small). He also enjoys attending weekly shelter playgroups. Toys are one of his favorite things, and he loves playing fetch with his foster family. This sweet boy is also full of affection. He bonds quickly with his people, loves to follow his person everywhere, and is always happy to give puppy kisses. While he stays busy during the day, he’s more than happy to settle in for cuddles on the couch at night. He’s also a great eater and not picky. Elf would do best in a home with children 12 and older, partly due to his enthusiasm for treats. He can sometimes be vocal — he may bark at strangers and occasionally howl if his person leaves his sight — and he can be a bit nervous when first meeting new people, but with patience he warms up and forms strong bonds. Please note he is need of a home without cats. If you’re looking for a fun, smart, affectionate companion and are willing to help him through heartworm treatment, Elf could be the perfect match.   Bonnie is a 3 year old Aussie shepherd/corgi/sheltie mix female. She is only 30 pounds and does not mind being an only dog. She is dog selective but prefers males and will play non stop. She is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and spayed and ready to go to her new home. She jumps up a lot. Working on the jumping but part of that is her young energy. She loves to kiss people and likes sitting outside when it is sunny. This is one girl that loves belly rubs.  To adopt Bonnie, please do our non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org so we can see if you are a good match. She would do best with a fenced yard as she started out as an outside dog and likes to survey the landscape but she gets pretty attached and does not leave home.  Her adoption fee is $350.
