Story
Athena is a beautiful sable merle Sheltie who was saved from puppy mill. She has been in foster care for several months now learning how to trust humans and to be a pet. She is very shy and does not like to be approached. But she will come up for pets and snacks! Athena likes to play with other dogs, but unfortunately, she is also extremely resource protective. She should be an only dog. We are looking for someone within a 2 hour radius of the Omaha area to adopt Athena. Please note that a fence is required. Alex and his brother Oliver MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER! Their adoption fee is $600 for the two of them. They are best buds. Their family had to move due to circumstances and could not take them with. They are very sweet an pretty low maintenance dogs. They are couch potatoes who could use some exercise. Though if given the chance, Alex will lead them to an escape! He is definitely the more outgoing of the two! To apply for Alex and Oliver, https://nesheltierescue.org/doggyinfo.php?dog=27 For questions, Laurie@NeSheltieRescue.org

Oliver and his brother Alex are a bonded pair. They MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER! They are best buds. Their family had to move due to circumstances and could not take them, sadly. Oliver is the less outgoing of the two, and follows Alex around. Both of them are sweet, loving, couch potatoes. They do love to go for walks, and could use the exercise! To adopt them, apply here: https://nesheltierescue.org/doggyinfo.php?dog=27 Questions: Laurie@NeSheltieRescue.org

Story
Well hello there, Farley! Farley is a Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog mix, born approximately 1/6/2021. Farley is housebroken and professionally trained knowing several commands; sit, stay, down, drop, and place. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, and hang out with his people in the backyard. A perfect home for Farley would be in a slower traffic-type of neighborhood, or on an acreage where his protective instincts can be rewarded. He needs a fenced in yard to safely explore his surroundings! Keep an eye on the front door when open or he might decide to explore the neighborhood on his own! If Farley sounds like a great pup for you, fill out an application for him today! The suggested adoption donation for Farley is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases)  during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2046811##

Story
Meet Cruz! He is 6 months old and perfection! Housebroken, crate trained, rides well in a car and absolutely loves everyone. He would do best with fur sibling as he loves to play. He is very passive and submissive so he gets along with all other dogs. He is learning about a leash quickly! He loves toys and is very smart and snuggly. Please google the breed as they are not super common. Cruz does have a lot of hair and does shed. But they are a hardy, long living, super fun breed!! He should be under 20 pounds ish full grown. He’s 13 pounds now. He’s small but not a full couch potato. He can be! But he will need to play and get walks as well. He is in Ames Iowa so you will need to go there to meet him. He is nuetered, utd on all shots and chipped.

The suggested adoption donation for Yuka is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
