Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a sweet young dog that needs our help. Scarlet is one of these dogs that deserves, due to her excellent temperament and all the love she'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing. Scarlet is the kind of dog that once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. Scarlet is a gorgeous 25 lb, 11 month old Schnauzer / Shetland Sheepdog mix (Sheltie) that is nothing but pure love. Scarlet's breed was identified by Texas veterinarians..all we know for certain is that this sweet girl is irresistible! This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to her new life, will make a wonderful addition to a dog-loving family. Scarlet's Texas rescuer has the following to brag about sweet Scar...What else can I say other then this girl is great! She’s sweet with other dogs, is learning about walking quietly on a leash, seems potty trained (but we'd never swear to it due to all the changes in her life), and seems to love everyone she meets. Scarlet has a positive and easy going personality and is the world's greatest cuddler once comfortable in her environment. The family that adopts Scarlet is very lucky..they're truly getting a gem! Scarlet is a perfect size to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and very sweet personality. Our dream for Scarlet is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life. As Scarlet becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Scarlet will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see our wonderful girl in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Scarlet the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Scarlet will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible dog. She would love to have another gentle and fun dog to play with but it's not mandatory if her people are nurturing and involved. Scarlet would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and periodic cuddles throughout the day that this life-style brings. Scarlet's scruffy coat is currently shelter-sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming, excellent 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement. These protocols promote great health as well as a cottony-soft coat that is shining with great health. Scarlet has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. We've also requested that she be spayed prior to transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Scarlet's spay / microchip if one of our Colorado rescue vets is used. Scarlet will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 11/15//2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scarlet please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Bear brightens up his foster home simply by being Bear. The 6-year-old brown and white beauty is 40 pounds of sweetness and sociability, and adores nothing more than being the focus of his foster mom’s undivided attention. Passionate about snuggling and cuddling on the couch and in bed with her, he loves placing his head on her neck, resting his body fully across her body, having his gleaming coat brushed and burrowing cozily under the covers. Not only does happy and confident Bear love his foster mom, he also loves everyone he meets, immediately offering them his belly for rubs. Engaging easily with dogs of assorted sizes, he’s eager and energetic, enjoys going for LONG and would make an ideal adventure dog for hikes, backpacking and camping! Particularly fond of bones, squeaky toys, balls and car rides, and understandably motivated by love, Bear presently knows “sit,” “down,” “no” and “off,” accepts all treats very gently, and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained to use a doggy door. Diligently honing his puppy-like manners, Bear hopes to brighten up a loving and active home that will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in belly rubs fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sporting her purple scarf with style is sweet and sociable 8-year-old Sheeba. The 30-pound black beauty, who was formerly someone’s much loved pet, has settled safely inside her foster home, and not only craves her foster mom’s cuddles and snuggles, she readily rolls over for belly rubs and then dances about in delight. Friendly and playful, Sheeba engages easily with dogs of assorted sizes, and being extremely energetic, she LOVES going on walks and on hikes and proved to be a superb traveling companion, going on cross-country trips, in the past. Particularly fond of squeaky toys and chewing bones, motivated by food, love and toys, she presently knows “come,” “sit” and “stay,” and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained. Now all sweet Sheeba needs is an especially loving and active home with no cats and only respectful, older children, to complete her commands and ensure that they are well and truly her fur-ever home.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
