Story
Meet Simon and Ranger: A Dynamic Duo Ready to Steal Your Heart! Life can be unpredictable, but love is constant—and that's what Simon and Ranger are here to share with you. These two bonded boys are looking for a forever home where they can continue their heartwarming journey together. Meet Simon: At 9 years old, Simon, a Shetland Sheepdog mix, is Ranger’s little shadow and self-appointed boss. Though small in stature, Simon’s personality is as big as Ranger’s heart. These two are inseparable, with Ranger lovingly watching over his pint-sized partner. Simon might give the marching orders, but it’s Ranger who keeps the bond strong. Meet Ranger: Ranger is a stunning 4-5-year-old Great Pyrenees, St. Bernard, and Golden Retriever mix. This gentle giant is the total package: Friendly and sweet: Ranger’s sweetness will melt your heart (seriously, watch out for cavities!). Loyal companion: He loves car rides, leisurely walks, and curling up next to you for a movie or game day. Soleful eyes: Look into his gaze, and you’ll feel like he’s peering right into your soul. Ready for adventures: Food-motivated and eager to please, he’ll be your best buddy for life. Ranger does have a slight limp that our vet is checking out, but it doesn’t dampen his spirit one bit—he’s ready to embrace life with open paws. While Ranger could thrive on his own, Simon would be lost without his big brother. Together, they’re a beautiful testament to the power of companionship. What They Need: Ranger and Simon are neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and full of love to share. They’re looking for a forever family who will cherish their bond and provide them with the comfort and security they deserve after the loss of their beloved owner. If you’re ready to open your home and your heart to this incredible pair, Ranger and Simon will reward you with loyalty, laughter, and a love that lasts a lifetime. ? To learn more or meet Ranger and Simon, contact us today! Together, we can give these two best friends the happy ending they so deeply deserve. ??

Story
To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/9/11/sophia Sophia is a sweet, spirited and playful young dog who endured a long-road to be with us here today. Sophia was originally found as a puppy with her littermates near Fairfield California last January. Sophia and her litter were brought to a local shelter and adopted out to individual families at 2-3 months of age. Unfortunately, Sophia was returned over summer at the age of 9 months, due to no fault of her own as her family’s circumstances had simply changed. Back at the shelter, Sophia began to experience what is called “kennel stress”; used to being in a home environment, the noise and isolation inside her kennel for 23.5-24 hours a day was taking it’s toil on her emotionally. Sophia still caught our eye with her playful nature, and smarts. Now, Sophia is decompressing in a foster home in SF, but her journey to forever is just beginning. She deserves the stability of a committed adopter for the rest of her life through all of life’s ups and downs. Here is more info on Sophia and what we have learned about her during her time in foster care: Loves to go “bye bye” and will jump right into the car; wonderful passenger and we can see her being a fantastic adventure buddy for future road trips, hikes, camping, etc Sophia has a great base of basics and is ready to impress you with sit, shake, and eager to learn more! She is SUPER smart and has amazing potential for someone who would like to do agility training. Good leash walking Sleeps through the night We know in Sophia’s first home she was raised with a child and a cat, but have not seen her personally around cats. Sophia’s favorite play time activity is the “flirt pole” which makes exercising her even in a smaller space doable Likes other dogs; Sophia participated in playgroups at the shelter; she has a puppy-like play style and loves to “herd” and chase her dog friends. She may be a little rough/ rambunctious in her play style for all dogs so we would definitely recommend a dog- to - dog meeting with current resident pets. Doggy play dates with dog friends would be a great activity for Sophia but she is not a dog park candidate. She has been around senior dogs who needed space, and she has taken cues from them as well. Her intros can be a bit rushed and excitable, but she is working on her neutrality on walks. She would do fine as a solo pet in the home as well. Sophia does alert bark at noises but is already learning how to “check in” with her person when the noises occur Sophia can be a little rough and mouthy meeting new people but is actively working with a trainer to learn how to greet people in a more appropriate manner We would recommend a home adults only as she has broken skin in an overly excited manner when meeting a new person early on. She has been doing much better learning to be gentle and not jump up to greet. A flexible work schedule, quiet neighborhood with a backyard would be amazing, but not all are required. Sophia may do well in a home with other pets, but we would advise animals meeting first and adopters to have plans for slow and proper integration into the home. The ideal home for Sophia will be ready for all things young dog; active adopters that can provide her with daily play/physical activity and mental stimulation would be best. Homes familiar with herding tendencies, and comfortable with large high energy dogs $250 adoption donation includes spayed, rabies, dhpp, bordatella, flea tick treated, fecal tested/dewormed, and microchipped Sophia is currently in foster in San Francisco, CA. To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/11/5/dude Meet Adoptable Dude! Dude is a 40-pound mixed-breed pup bursting with playful energy and affection. This good boy is looking for an active and loving forever home! Dude was rescued by HFP with his littermates and mom last winter. He was lovingly hand raised in foster care and adopted around 3 months of age, but unfortunately didn’t find his forever home. Dude is potty trained, crate trained, leash trained for walks, and knows multiple commands. Dude has graduated from a beginner training course and has been recommended for agility training. He knows Sit, Look, Touch, Lay Down, Stay/Wait, Come, High-Five, Drop it, Take it, Leave it, and Let's Walk. Dude thrives on daily walks and lots of playtime, making him the perfect companion for an active household. He loves other dogs and would do great with a canine buddy that matches his enthusiasm. Dude currently lives with a 7 year old and while his excitement is contagious, his energetic nature might be a bit much for smaller children, so he’s best suited for a home with older kids or adults who can match his zest for life. With consistent training and plenty of love, Dude’s big personality will shine even brighter! He’s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and ready to bring joy to his new family. Story
To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/9/11/eli Per DNA test, Eli is a mixed breed with a bit of everything! Corgi, Basset Hound, Boston Terrier, Border Collie. He is neutered, vaccinated, and weighs 46lbs! Eli was adopted through HFP as a puppy in January of 2021 but is now in need of a new home. We know in the right environment he will THRIVE and be an amazing companion to a lucky person! Here is what his adopters have to say about Eli: Why is the dog being given up?: Eli has resource guarding issues with the other dog in the home. Eli is actually a very good dog in other ways! He's very affectionate, loyal, and playful. He is very energetic and wants to please. An ideal situation for him would be to live in a home with one or two adults who love constant companionship with their pooch. It's very hard to let Eli go. If my husband and I didn't have grandchildren or 6 grand-dogs we wouldn't be in this situation. Eli really is a loving dog! He deserves the best! First off, Eli is a house dog. He loves toys (but can’t have them with another dog in the house because of his resource guarding issues) :( He loves to sit with his person and watch tv at night and will follow you around the house. He will become your best friend. Eli has never been aggressive with people Does the dog get along with: Eli is dog selective. He lives with our other dog and gets along with one of our daughter's two male dogs and another daughter's female dog as long as food or toys aren't present. He doesn't get along with our third daughter's 2 male dogs. He gets along with our neighbor's standard (female) poodle. He had gone to dog parks before the pandemic and was fine. He has a huge backyard that he plays in with our husky. He was doing great on the leash before the pandemic but now his exercise is running around in the backyard. Does your dog have handling sensitivities? How is your dog meeting strangers?: Eli LOVES people Does the dog like children?: Yes ( but recommend a home without children) Are there children in the home?: No Where does the dog sleep?: In the master bedroom on a dog bed Is the dog allowed on your furniture?: Yes Is the dog crate trained?: No Where do you keep your dog: in a spare bedroom with the tv on and door closed. We never leave him more than a few hours at a time. He hangs out with us where ever we are in the house and sleeps in our bedroom at night. How does the dog react to being left alone?: He whines a bit at first but settles pretty quickly Please list any particular fears your dog has.: None Describe any training the dog has, tricks it knows, and any experience with a trainer.: He has had two trainers. He sits on command, is getting pretty good at "stay.” He's pretty obedient but needs more leash training. Does the dog have any known health problems?: No Does the dog like riding in the car?: Yes What does the dog like?: ATTENTION!!! He loves to just be with his person. He's very affectionate! He would be so happy living with someone who worked from home or perhaps a retiree. He's very loyal! What does the dog dislike?: Competition from other dogs Does the dog jump kiddie gates or fences?: No Is the dog a digger?: No Is there anything else you can share that is special, unusual, or endearing about your dog that will help the new owners?: His looks! He is such a unique mix! People always smile or laugh when they look at him. They (and we) think he's very cute! He has a Border Collie/Staffordshire Terrier head and short Corgi/Basset Hound legs. He loves giving kisses! Please describe a typical day for your dog during the workweek: He gets up when we get up, usually around 7:00 am. He goes out to do his business then gets fed. He goes out in our (big!) backyard to run around and sniff a few times a day. He eats dinner at 3:00 and hangs around with us watching tv at night. He love to fall asleep next to his person on the sofa or in a chair on his person's lap. He goes out to do his business around 10:00 pm then goes to bed. He would love to sleep with his person on their bed but we don't allow it. Please provide a summary of the “ideal” home for your dog:: A loving home with no other pets and no children would be best! Eli would thrive in a home where his person/people didn't get out much or worked from home. He's very loyal! Rehoming Fee $100 Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3.
