Story
Ripley is a funny, smart, little sweetheart who loves her people and her dog siblings (she doesn’t pay any attention to the cats). Her favorite time of the day is mealtime (she trots and spins while her food is being prepared); she is very food motivated (especially if you have some cheese or boiled egg). In the house, she prefers to be with her people at all times; if we are sitting down, she likes to be on our laps or lying next to us (getting pets or belly rubs). In the backyard, she shows more independence and will now go out with the big dogs without a human tagging along; she is also very curious and spends a lot of time sniffing and going in and out of the brush or chasing squirrels. We have just recently started to see her initiate play with us and/or the big dogs and engage with her toys. She is still learning about the outside world and so is shy at first around new people and skittish around new sights/sounds. Once she warms up and gets comfortable, especially if a treat or some belly rubs are offered, she is back to her normal self. Anyone who adopts her is going to need to understand that she is still learning about the outside world and is still dealing with being attention/affection starved for the first few years of her life. Ripley will be a wonderful addition to any family!
