Story
Molly was rescued from California last fall. We knew that she was 2 yo and deaf. We went and picked up and she was the sweetest! Not shy or timid. Just very affectionate and looking for her people. After having her for 6 weeks we noticed she was getting wounds very easily and frequently when playing with our other dog. After multiple vet visits and a visit to a dermatologist, we learned she has Ehlers Danlos syndrome. This is a genetic syndrome that can result in hyper flexible, joints, loose skin, and wounds that come from very minor traumas. Some thing that would not normally affect another dog, such as scratching their ear will give Molly a wound that requires vet management. In every other way she is absolutely wonderful. Genuinely a sweetheart of a dog and very smart. She has learned signs quickly and does well w routine. Ideally Molly is homed with either someone in vet med or someone familiar with Ehlers Danlos and in a home without other pets that pose a risk for wounds.
