HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardMeet Dallas, a shy but sweet Standard Poodle who is still learning to trust the world around him. While he may be reserved and nervous inside his kennel, he becomes much friendlier once he’s outside. Dallas walks well on a leash when accompanied by a confident dog friend, though he tends to be anxious on his own. He would thrive with a more confident dog companion in his home, but it’s not a requirement as long as he has a patient human to guide him.Dallas absolutely loves outdoor time, finding more confidence and joy in the play yard, where he enjoys running and playing with other dogs. He’s very playful and enjoys treats, which will be helpful for future training. He will need a yard with at least a 5-foot fence to keep him safe. Dallas is looking for a patient adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to grow into the loving, confident dog he was always meant to be.- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
