Story
Meet Liza, she is all smiles and a fast friend. We don’t know if people are drawn to her because of her looks or her radiant friendly nature, we just know that they are and she loves it. So much good-girl is packed into her petite little frame and I promise, if you are looking for a dog that will keep the good times rolling, Liza is your girl! Friendly, playful, attentive, with a contagious kind of happiness, she is the side-kick that could win an award for Best Supporting character energy. Take a look then come back to read more-https://youtu.be/nu06j3GL6NI In rescue we cannot say with 100% certainty a dogs breed or age but more than a few signs point to her being a Bull Terrier- a Spuds McKenzie, a Target dog, a Patton dog… these are all things people will say when you are walking her and they can’t remember the breeds name. She will be more than happy to greet each and every one of her adoring fans if you don’t mind. If you do not like attention, this isn’t the girl for you- she is magnetic and her friendly nature will get you into at least one conversation with a stranger when you’re out and about. Weighing 44 lbs she is a perfect mid-size presence which is perfect because she is affectionate and will not hesitate to crawl into your lap to secure a smooch, thankfully she won’t hurt you in the process. It is a toss up for me on my favorite thing about Liza. Looks wise- her ears are so fun and remind me of those cats with the folded down ears. The other is personality/smarts based- it is her soldier like diligence to the command SIT. That command cuts through just about any moment, noise or busy surroundings, and she drops her little booty down with a militant precision. Its like a salute almost and boy does it feel good. We believe she about 2 years old but breed and age are two details, given she is a rescue dog, that we cannot know with 100% confidence. We do think she is fully grown so her size is here to stay. And because we believe she on the younger side, she is the prime age for learning, whether its everyday skills or party tricks. Her attentive nature is really charming and will only strengthen your connection and make you proud but as someone who personally owns a bull terrier, don’t take it personal if she ends up being more of a bestie than a circus dog. The bestie role fits best anyway. We introduced Liza to a handful of dogs and two things were immediately clear, she is dog-friendly and very playful! Her first meeting on leash was marked with excitement and it was easy to see she was ready to play. The greeting was bouncy, which is a bit the breed and a bit her age, but as soon as the meeting was out of the way they were off to play. They hit it off so well that in no time at all, Liza was ready to show him her Humpty dance. As we laughed and waited to see where this would go naturally, she was already back to all four paws on the ground. She was introduced to a variety of other dogs in an effort to gauge the type of dog she gravitates too and enjoys best. She was polite and inviting during each initial meeting and reserved her Humpty dance for her first connection and it was easy to see that it was just a harmless move she does when she is excited and happy. Her foster shared that he she lives with a variety of dogs and the few times she has showed her moves to a dog that wasn’t into it, she respected that and let it go. Basically, why do your favorite dance for someone who wont even appreciate it, boring but acceptable. We all laughed at the idea that we just want to tell the dogs- “it means she likes you!” Either way, she shows off a range of happy, friendly play that any fun-loving, bouncy dog would enjoy. She can for from a game of chase with one dog to a rough and tumble roll-around with another. This is a dog that would love a playful, confident canine companion in her forever home. Her play-style may not suit every dog, the older, more reserved dogs could find her to be too much but we are happy to help ensure it is a good match if you are an interested applicant. It’s also important to know that Liza needs a cat-free home as she’s much too interested in them. An ideal home would include a yard, for running and bouncing but also because she is working on some of the skills that are important for apartment dogs. She has basic leash skills and is very responsive to her handler but is still learning that not every passing dog is open and available to play. She is house and crate trained from everything her foster has seen and he praises her for not having any accidents since she has been with him. Liza would be best suited for slightly older kids, 5+ ish, only because her happy bounce could accidentally knock over a little one on unsteady legs. No matter the size of the people in her life, be prepared- she is affectionate and a bit of a sneaky-smoocher. Liza is a cutie with a fun personality in a perfect smedium size package. Potential adopters are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the breed if you do not have previous experience. Not all dogs fit their common breed personality traits but it is encouraged to be aware which will only help ensure she is a good fit for you. If you have any questions about Liza or the adoption process please be in touch. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Calling all bulldog LOVERS!!! The ones that love snuggles, slobber, sass, and everything else in between. Beefy BUNZ is all of that and so much more! He has the type of face that makes you almost get that uncontrollable urge to want to squeeze his squishy little face, as if his cuteness is too much for your heart to handle --- like your love for him is just bursting out in an adorable, squishy explosion! That's what it's like when you meet Beefy. You know it's absolutely ridiculous, but you just can't help it. You instantly love everything about him; from the way he snores, to the way his slobber slings when he's playing with toys, the way he likes to sleep in the weirdest positions and places, and lastly the way he loves you! Watch his video and fall in love with this handsome hunk's personality: https://youtu.be/7Qv5fVY9NqE?si=xhwIkdTsOrc3qFtb Beefy is believed to be an English bulldog approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 66 lbs full of love and very squish worthy rolls. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Although, it's pretty safe to say that this guy is definitely a descent from the bulldog family. I mean just look at that smoosh face and those wrinkles! The best parts about bulldogs hands down. We would love for Beefy's future adopters to have knowledge or experience with bulldogs to understand their personalities as well as fulfill their physical needs. Like making sure those wrinkles hidden within those sausage rolls stay clean, are prepared for any potential allergy needs that may or may not develop, and fawn over all the personality quirks that everyone loves! If Beefy could dream up a perfect home, it would be a home with a yard for when he wants to lay out and catch some rays but only short amounts of sun time so he doesn't get too hot, a toy basket filled with all his favorite toys, plenty of nap areas for him to plop down and show off his unique sleeping positions, and with a family that will give him endless booty scratches. He's a great guy to have around if you like to host or have friends over too. They just need to be prepared for all things Beefy LOL. Beefy kisses, beefy hugs, beefy slobber, and best for last....BEEFY SNUGGLES!!! He has no shame, nor does he hold back his love and will try to sit in your lap like he's a 5 lb Chihuahua if you let him. If you watched his video then you saw it first hand. Just imagine you're working from home and you need a little break from the computer or need a nervous system reset with deep pressure stimulation; you look over and see Beefy boy just waiting for you to hold him like a baby. He's a great work from home buddy because he's always there when you need him. Even if you don't work from home, he's still going to be there waiting for you to get home and smother you with all the kisses and hugs. Beefy would also do good in a home with kids as well. He has been around kids as young as 4 years old and has been fostered with kids. He's not the type that's going to smother your kids with affection or go out of his way to seek out affection from your kids, but he's not bothered by them one bit, and does well with them. If you're looking for a heart dog for your kid to bond with, then Beefy's not your guy. If you're looking for a house hippo that loves affection, loves doing his own thing, and has a silly personality, then Beefy is the boy for you. Beefy is very dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs he has been introduced too. In typical bulldog fashion, Beefy can be a little bull dozer and forward when he is meeting a dog for the first time, but after initial meets are over, he's over it too. He likes to play and loves to wrestle with other dogs. Beefy's play style can be described best as a bold, bouncy, full of personality, often giving playful shoulder nudges and silly head butts. He's not going to win a game of chase by a long shot but he does enjoy them and likes to do the chasing in his own special way. Tongue out, rolls are giggling, piggy snorts/grunts are activated, those thick thighs are moving as fast as he can get them to move, and body is bouncing. That is the best way to describe his play style when he does play. Definitely entertaining at the very least! Beefy isn't all about play all the time either, for the most part he's hanging back and seeking out affection from people, so these playful moment are sporadic and not a constant. In a home, he would do best with a confident and playful lady friend that is tolerant of a more physical kind of play and also enjoys just relaxing and hanging out. Beefy would also be great as a your one and only too. He does not need the company of another dog to help him feel comfortable in a home or fulfill his energy needs. His energy needs are on the lower end of the spectrum and he is a happy confident meatball all on his own. He would do best in a home without cats. If the name didn't already give it away, Beefy loves treats and is very treat motivated. He already knows commands like sit, stay, leave it, kennel and is capable of learning more if you'd like. if you know bulldogs, then you know most of all these smooshy face potatoes all have a stubborn side to them and Beefy is no different and I say that with so much love and admiration. Bulldog stubbornness just comes with the territory and you either love it or hate it. I personally am a sucker for all the bulldogs and think it just adds to their charm. Beefy isn't even that hard headed either, sometimes he just doesn't want to do something and will just look at you with that sad pouty face that he's mastered. Beefy is crate trained and potty trained too. He's such a funny guy because for the most part he is quiet in his kennel and quiet in the house until he's gotta go potty. He will let out the funniest sounding goblin type bark letting you know he's gotta go potty and you cannot help but laugh a little bit. Beefy does great out in public too if you were to take him on a short trip to your local coffee shop or if you just wanted to go on a drive. He LOVES to go on car rides and will try to sit his chunky butt right in your lap. Which is all fun and games if you're a passenger riding along but if it's just you and Beefy, we do recommend a doggy seat belt for him. He loves car rides so much that he even knows the words, "bye bye" and will head straight for the car and wait patiently for you to lift his booty up there. His foster parents drive a large truck and when he's waiting for them to load him up, he looks back at them with this look of, "ummmm humans, chop chop, I'm waiting." He is such a character. Beefy walks well on a leash too and will sometimes pull towards something he wants to see and right at the beginning of the walk because of initial excitement but that only last literally a few feet and then he's walking like a champ. We are willing to test Beefy with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Meet Dean! He is currently 4 months old, 17 pounds, and we think he may be a Boxer / Lab mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Dean's video here: https://youtu.be/uL3QmtoKcfE Dean is currently in a loving foster home and loves to play and take lots of naps! Eat, sleep, play, repeat. Dean is living his best puppy life right now - all he needs is YOU! Dean is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Dean's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend!
