Troy Male / 52 lbs / American Bulldog x Shar pei x Dogo mix (best guess) Neutered Vaccinated Chipped HW negative This beauty is only a year old & has so much life left in him!!! He’s definitely a loving playful dog and would benefit from lots of activities outdoors. He needs an active person or family to keep him busy. He has not been tested around cats or young children. So in his new home he will need teenagers or older as he loves to jump up and can be super goofy so would definitely knock over young kids. He currently has some hot spots and thus, has some sensitive skin. No known food allergies. He would love a Kong stuffed with treats or peanut butter that he has to work on :) a slow feeder bowl would also stimulate this boy! He’s good with other dogs and he is strong so a halti or gentle leader would definitely aid in his leash skills. He is house trained. Troy is looking for a foster home or a foster to adopt home. My journey began at the city shelter when I was just a 2-week-old baby, accompanied by my loving Mom and seven siblings. While one of my seven siblings found a happy home through fostering, I and my other siblings are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. Each one of us embodies a friendly, funny, and endearing spirit. Picture this: lovely chocolate fur, long legs adorned with white socks, and eyes that exude innocence, much like a baby angel. I’m a social butterfly, adoring people so much that I’ll gladly sit on a stranger’s lap upon our first meeting. Harley is a very goofy girl who is amazing with all of our staff members. She is a treat-eating machine! One of her favourite things is getting butt rubs, though she also enjoys playing with her food puzzles. She does like to go for walks, but is generally pretty lazy and enjoys lounging. There have been instances of resource guarding with dogs and strangers, so she would do best in a home with no children or other pets. Harley is very loyal to her people and will become your shadow if you give her a chance!

Amor is the sweetest girl you will ever meet who loves lots of cuddles and is very affectionate. Our volunteers regularly spend time in her room cuddling with her and she truly appreciates it. She also enjoys going for walks with her people and is very playful. Unfortunately she does not get along with other dogs or cats and will need to be the only dog in the home. On her walks she can be reactive to other dogs, but she is learning to walk by them comfortably.

Mackey was rescued after a life of living outside all alone. This powerhouse is such a fun loving boy! Mackey does not trust new people easily but with a proper introduction and lots of time, he learns to share his things and give affection. Once comfortable with his people, he listens well and is bouncy and playful. Mackey will need an experienced adult family to manage his resource guarding and teach him how to live in a house. Mackey is very intelligent and has learned many different ways to control these behaviors. He will need continued practice with muzzle training for vet visits and boundaries in the home to control his resource guarding. With clear guidance and reward for desired behavior, Mackey can easily learn to live in a home. Mackey has a high prey drive which makes him aggressive towards small dogs and wildlife. He will need lots of control on walks, distance away from all dogs, constant obedience training and positive reinforcement to keep him in a good mindset and paying attention to his owner. Mackey would do best in a house with a fully fenced yard.
