Story
Amelia is such a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and give you kisses and little nibbles. She will follow you everywhere and is not at all interested in running away - she does not like to be left alone or left behind. She is the perfect mid-sized companion and will be a very affectionate, loyal friend. She seldom barks. Isn't she cute - with those button ears?Amelia is not at all aggressive, and at times can be a bit shy. She is so eager to trust but is sometimes a little unsure and cautious. She loves to see familiar people and loves to play with their dogs when we go for walks each morning, noon and night. She enjoys riding in the car and is very well behaved on outings to dog-friendly restaurants, wineries and outdoor events. She and her foster brother play well together. They will chase each other and share toys. Amelia is also content to play quietly with toys by herself. She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. She is spayed. Amelia has graduated potty-training 101. We are so proud of her. She is proud of herself and really shows how happy she is when she hears she's been a good girl. She gets a good belly scratch. If you have dogs or cats, as always, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we always recommend supervision between animals and children. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 44 Age: 3yrs 8mths 1wks

Ryan Evans is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!Ryan Evans is a handsome 2-year-old male dog who came in as a stray with his companion Sharpay Evans. Ryan is an easy-going pup who is easy to leash and walks by other dogs without any reaction. He's a gentle, sweet boy who takes treats gently and is known for being a good walker with no pulling. With medium energy, Ryan is perfect for both playtime and relaxing moments. During playgroups, Ryan is truly the life of the party. He loves playing with EVERYONE, and he likes to be the center of attention.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $400 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Ryan Evans 251912".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. Story
If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky girl that loves walks, hikes, humans, dogs, snuggles, and the like, then look no further. This sweet girl is nearly perfect! She can't help but make your day a little more "Rosie". She's house trained, crate trained, and does great on walks (and looooves an adventure - car rides, meeting friends, play dates - she's your girl)! She's still young and is best behaved after a little activity, but such a good pup. She's learning basic commands and spends her time trying to please her humans. She may be one of the happiest foster dogs we've met! While she does have heartworms, the friends of wake county has sponsored her $400 toward her treatment. And it's very treatable. Please ask any questions you may have. If you're ready for some joy in your life, email her foster mom atSarahf0305@gmail.com We can't wait to meet you! Primary Color: Red Brown Weight: 56 Age: 3yrs 3mths 4wks

Story
(DOB 08/05/2020) Things Lady loves; water - she already has explored the lake and walked right in. In the future, we plan to fit her for a life vest and see how she does swiming. Lady loves balls of all kinds. If they squeak, make noise, etc. even better. She finds them very entertaining. She is a great travel companion and enjoys car rides so take her with you to have an amazing "co-pilot". Lady is, "Perfectly imperfect!" Maybe she doesn't love every dog and would love to be an only dog in the home so she can get all the love and attention! We hope you will fall in love and give her a chance, she won’t let you down!  Lady could be a good pup for an apartment, townhome or apartment with the appropriate amount of walks and playtime. She would be happiest in a home with a 5ft+ fence to have to explore. Other than barking a little bit when you leave she isn't that vocal. She is already house and crate trained If you work from home and would like a loveable and loyal companion, Lady says she is up for the task! You will likely find her snuggling up near you and happy to help you take a mid-day break for a walk followed by some good ole belly rubs. Lady hasn't been introduce to cats yet but based on her love of chasing bunnies, squirrels, etc. a cat free home would be best. Due to her size a family with adults and mature children. Lady is heartworm positive and our rescue will treat her so she can be adopted within 1-hr of Wake Forest, NC while she is under going treatment. Don't let that stop you from considering this sweet girl and giving her a fur-ever home! As part of Lady’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lady, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2163171##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ARCHIE is a courtesy listed dog. He is not a part of Best Friend Pet Adoption. We are helping to find a new home for him. You must contact his owner directly. Please contact Katie at kbelton95@gmail.com  if you are interested in finding out more about sweet ARCHIE.   Archie is a 7  year old, 60 lb boxer mix who needs a new home.  His owners adopted him from the SPCA when he was around 2 years old. He is fearful of strangers and now that they have a one year old child, Archie is fearful of the child. He may act assertive around new people but is not aggressive. With a child this young, the owners feel that he would be much happier in a home without children.  Perhaps older, experience children who understand a fearful dog, but not young  children.   Archie gets along fine with the small dog in his current home. He could also be an only dog.  He hasn't had exposure to cats.  He is crate trained and housebroken. He used to sleep in his crate but doesn't need to be crated at night now. He is also neutered  and microchipped.   Archie is used to staying outside or n his crate while the owners are away from the house. He has moderate energy and loves walking, hiking but also enjoys his sleeping time!   What are is favorite pastimes.... walking, hiking, tennis balls and stealing blankets off couches to make nests . He is probably not a good fit for living in an apartment,   He would prefer a fenced yard because he’s used to it but he would be ok with regular walks and potty breaks.  Archie is a very sweet boy once he trusts you.  He loves scratches and treats! He is very smart and knows a few tricks and will do anything for cheese! His first and strongest love is for blankets, which he hoards as often as possible. He loves to make nests and snuggle into them! He is very obedient, doesn’t get on furniture and walks well on a leash! He just needs an experienced owner who will love him and help him with his fears! You must contact his owner directly. Please contact Katie at  kbelton95@gmail.com   if you are interested in finding out more about sweet ARCHIE.   ARCHIE  is a courtesy listed dog.  This means that he is not a part of or associated with Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA). The bio information listed for him was provided by his owner and not generated or verified by BFPA. Adoption arrangements will be a private arrangement between you and the owner.  As with any dog adoption, BFPA encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting. This includes temperament testing and verification of vet records to ensure the dog is in good health, UTD on vaccinations and has been sterilized.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 4:27 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All Best Friend Pet Adoption dogs require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. The link to our application is  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.  It can also be found on bfpa.org.    FOSTER COMMENTS:   Meet 3-4 month old Eno.  She is one of the Hawaiian Litter puppies.  Her momma, Tiki, is a 3 year old 30 lb rat terrier mix who is also pictured above.  We feel that Eno will be larger and probably at least 50 lbs when full grown.   Eno is very friendly with other people!  She loves everyone she meets.  Eno has been around, 4 yo and a 10 yo children.   She gets very excited but I insist “No jump” and she will sit down.  Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies. We are working on potty training for Eno and she is getting better every day.  We use a crate for her but she can cry in it for hours.  I Leave her loose in the house for 2-3 hours and there are no accidents, and no damage, except an occasional magazine.  She has good house manners and can grow into not needing the crate.  Eno is very friendly with other dogs. I have introduced her to my pitbull and my girlfriend’s CaviPoo. No trouble at all.   We have two failed foster cats and they are all figuring it out.  A hiss from the cats tells Eno to back off.  Eno barks when the cats hiss at her but then they go their separate ways.  Eno loves to potty and play in her little fenced in courtyard best but is learning to walk gently on a leash.  I walk her with my 70-lb pitbull, Charlotte, and they stick together.  Eno’s activity level is high energy though she does sleep through the night and takes a nap with us every afternoon.  She is a gentle pup (though mouthy while her teeth are coming in).  She can occupy herself for long periods of time with her sisters’ toys. She especially loves a small deer antler to gnaw on.  Eno’s new home can have a furry friend or she would do well being the center of attention too.    Eno can't wait to see what exciting adventures life has waiting for her once she finds her forever home! She is packing up her toys already and can't wait to meet you. Please consider making Eno a part of your family.  She is a joy!  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Eno's mother (Tiki) was rescued from a shelter and we didn't know she was pregnant. Her foster came home and discovered she had a litter of four sweet girls waiting for her.  What a surprise! Maybe you can open your home for one of these lucky puppies. They love dogs and all people.      Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies.  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants for puppies should ideally live 30 minutes from Cary NC (no further than one hour) since Eno must receive medical care in the Cary area. Best Friend Pet Adoption will cover all medical cost for Eno until she is spayed when she is 6 months old. Eno can start a trial adoption now and the adoption will be finalized after she is spayed.       INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ENO?
