Story
Meet Butterscotch! He is a two year old Sharpei/Staff terrier mix. Butterscotch is an ACC survivor and deserves nothing but the best. He is a loving, affectionate boy who is great with everyone he meets.  Loves playing with other dogs, playing in the yard or even taking a dip in the kiddie pool.  Butterscotch was abandoned on the streets, and for all he endured he is truly the sweetest most loving boy.  Crate trained, housebroken, happy go lucky fella waiting for his forever family....don't miss out on this very special boy!!  Good with dogs ad cats but of course we require a meet and greet. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application IN FULL!!!   https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Odin, an approximately 9-10-year-old Black Lab-Shar Pei mix with a slender 55 lb build and a soft, medium-length black coat. Odin’s heartwarming loyalty and gentle spirit make him an exceptional companion, and he is now looking for a calm, loving home as his owner is moving out of state and sadly cannot bring him along. Odin was adopted from LCAR eight years ago, and during this time, he’s grown to be an incredibly well-trained and reliable friend. Fully housebroken, non-destructive, and crate-trained (though he doesn’t need it), Odin is trustworthy to roam freely at home. He’s happiest when he’s around his people, whether snoozing next to them in bed or resting in his own bed close by. He can get a bit anxious during car rides, but he settles down once he’s inside, and he’s typically easygoing. Odin is particularly endearing due to his deep attachment to his people. His loyalty is unmatched—he’ll even refuse to go for a walk with anyone if his owner is asleep in the house until given permission. This tender-hearted boy loves his routines and friends, even recognizing his owner’s friends by name. His favorite cuddle time is in the mornings, making for a perfect start to the day. Having had a challenging experience with a dog attack in the past, Odin can be a bit nervous around other dogs but tends to get along well with calm, older dogs. Although he hasn’t lived with cats, he doesn’t show much interest in them when encountered on walks. Odin is also sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder and feels comforted when he’s held close during scary moments. His intelligence is remarkable—he knows an impressive range of words and tones and follows commands exceptionally well. He isn’t food-motivated but has specific treats he enjoys. Odin would thrive in a home with gentle, understanding people who can offer him a steady, comforting environment and lots of love. He is one of those rare dogs whose intelligence and loyalty leave an impression on everyone he meets, and he deserves a peaceful, caring forever home where he can continue to flourish.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 2:50 pm

Story
Meet Eggy, a nervous 2-year-old male pup with a heart full of potential. Found tied to a pole in a state park with a bag of supplies, Eggy has had a rough start but is slowly learning to trust again. Though he’s still nervous around strangers, his courage is growing every day. With patience and love, Eggy is gradually warming up and showing his sweet side. If you’re ready to delve into a rewarding journey of helping a shy dog find his confidence, Eggy is waiting to be your loyal companion. Due to his fear we are recommending an adult only home.If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220#Adoptme #Adoption #adoptionistheoption #adoptable #cutepup #longislanddogparents #ifitaintpit #mixedbreed #petitepup #rescued #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #instadog #dogstagram #dogs #doggo #shelterdogs #shelterpups #takemehometoday #dogoftheday #dogsofnewyork #nycdogs #longislanddogs

Story
Kimchi is a 3-year-old Shar-Pei that was found as a stray. She is currently looking for a calm, patient home. She`s a little shy and still adjusting to her environment, so she may take some time to warm up. Kimchi is cautious with new people and prefers slow introductions, but once she trusts you, she`s a loving companion. She knows `sit` and is good on lead. Kimchi isn`t currently interested in toys and isn`t playful yet, as she’s still finding her confidence. She would do best with an experienced owner who can help her feel safe and secure. Story
Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all. If you have the heart, home and time for this sweet girl, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or go to our FB page or call the number listed below.
