Mia is a beautiful 12-months old, 45 lbs, girl who deserves to be in a loving home. She’s been surrendered with her mom by their owner who no longer could care for them so our rescue offered a foster home for Mia. She is safe now and ready to be scooped by her own people! Mia’s adapted to New York City incredibly fast as she is very smart dog! She is confident, obedient and curios about the world around her. She is being fostered with two other dogs and a cat with whom she bonded well. She even wants to play with a cat who is a boss of the household. She let her furry roommate dogs take her chewing stick so she learned sharing skills. As young pup she is full of energy, playful and athletic. She loves going for walks and running and playing with other dogs in doggy park. Someone with an active lifestyle who would take Mia for walks and hikes would be best for her! Mandatory dog training is required to adopt Mia as she is still a young pup and needs to learn good manners. She is house-broken and crate trained but she prefers to be near her foster mom either on a couch or a floor. This stunning girl is very loving, loyal and will get attached to her human. Sabre is a shar-pei mix who we think is the missing sibling of Jody and Buffy. Jody and Buffy were found on the highway after one of their siblings was hit by a truck. Sabre, and the mother, weren’t found with them. But after a few months we got a call from the shelter and they had found a pregnant pup who looked to be Jody and Buffy’s sibling. She didn’t have much time left in the shelter before she was scheduled for euthanization so we didn’t think twice about pulling her out immediately. Just two days after she arrived at our Texas foster’s house, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies - 2 of which are still looking for their forever homes - Vodka and Whiskey who are also posted for adoption. Sabre was an incredible young mother, but now it's time for her to start enjoying life for herself. Sabre is estimated to be just about a year old. She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed before going home. She is a very loving girl, and very friendly with all the animals and the humans that she mets. She walks well on a leash. She seems to be house-trained. Her foster says she is a great dog!! Sabre is currently in Texas but will be transported to NJ when adopted. Whiskey is all puppy! He’s got a beautiful, shiny black coat, and his little tail is constantly wagging! He’s as friendly as can be and likes to kiss your nose. Unfortunately, taking good pictures of his wiggly 41-pound ball of happiness is hard. Whiskey was born on April 26, 2024, just 2 days after we pulled his very pregnant momma from being killed in the shelter. She gave birth to nine beautiful puppies, so we made toast and named them accordingly! Now in NJ, his foster mom says: “Whiskey is a very loving boy! Initially, he was a little shy, but having other dogs show him the ropes built his confidence and character. He is VERY loving and a Velcro dog. He is very smart, and though he loves treats, he loves pets even more. He’s really pleasant to train because he wants to please the human, treats or not. He watches TV and loves comfy couches and beds, but his favorite thing is being outside in the yard. (He could be out there all day if you let him) He does have some separation anxiety. He does not like to be in the crate and does not enjoy not seeing a human at all times. But with time and positive reinforcement, he’s been improving in the playpen - still working on it. I try to get pictures of him, but when I go down to his level, he "attacks" me with puppy kisses, and he can’t contain his loving self. 🥰🥰🥰” Whiskey is vaccinated and microchipped. Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all.
