Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all. Story

Tank & Chrissy are gorgeous, gentle and very sweet purebred shar peis who were given up to the rescue after their owner in rural Mississippi passed away. They are just wonderful dogs, friendly and loving and very bonded. We would love for them to be adopted together. Tank and Chrissy are not siblings, their owner purchased them from a breeder with the intent to breed and then sell puppies. Chrissy had one litter and then her owner passed away. Wag spayed and neutered Tank and Chrissy once they came to the rescue, Wags also paid for necessary eye surgery for both dogs and they have recovered well. Unfortunately, they are both heartworm positive, but have a mild cases and are being treated. They will be two years old this summer. We have decided to list them now to see if we can find a potential adopter who is willing to adopt them together and either wait for them to finish their heartworm treatment or even adopt them and continue the treatment on their own. They really are extremely easy and just the nicest dogs and deserve a loving home of their own. At the rescue Tank and Chrissy live with other dogs and are friendly to kids and are well socialized. They love to play together, adore toys and bones and are both major snuggle bugs. We have not listed an adoption fee for Tank and Chrissy—their vet bills have been into the thousands between the eye surgery, spay, neuter, and heartworm treatment, and we are not expecting that to be reimbursed but would like to discuss the fee with any potential adopters. Mia is a beautiful 10-month old girl who deserves to be in a loving home. She’s been surrendered with her mom by their owner who no longer could care for them so our rescued offered a foster home for Mia. Her mom is pure breed Shar Pei and the father mix breed. She is safe now and ready to be scooped by her own people! Mia’s adapted to New York City incredibly fast as she is very smart dog! She is confident, obedient and curious about the world around her. She is being fostered with two other dogs and a cat with whom, after proper introduction she bonded well. She even wants to play with a cat who is a boss of the household. She let her furry roommate dogs take her chewing stick so she learned sharing skills. She is a dog that loves affection more than anything, and if you're looking for a dog who loves her person, she would be a perfect fit. As young pup she is full of energy, playful and very athletic. Her ideal home would be one with or without another dog, a fenced in yard, where she could expend her energy. She could also do well in the city if taken on frequent walks. Respectful older children (15+) and someone who works from home, at least part of the day is a must. Mandatory dog training is required to adopt Mia as she needs to learn how to behave properly. Since she is still a young pup with high energy she gets excited when she sees another dog passing her by. Currently she goes on pack walks every day so she is learning how to behave. She is house-broken and crate trained but she prefers to be near her foster mom either on a couch or a floor. This stunning girl is very loving, loyal and will get attached to her human. When Jody and Buffy were first seen, they roamed the streets with their mother and siblings. It took some time to trap these two. The 3rd sibling was hit by a truck trailer and passed away. The mother and 4th dog were never seen again. When they came to us, they were very skinny and had very bad skin. Good food and vet care, and they are now healthy and ready to go home. Whiskey, one of nine puppies to Sabre. Sabre found herself in a shelter, very pregnant and with time to be killed. We suspect that she was Buffy and Jody's third sibling, who disappeared with their momma when we saved them from the highway. Two days after arrival, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies.
