Sabre is a shar-pei mix who we think is the missing sibling of Jody and Buffy. Jody and Buffy were found on the highway after one of their siblings was hit by a truck. Sabre, and the mother, weren’t found with them. But after a few months we got a call from the shelter and they had found a pregnant pup who looked to be Jody and Buffy’s sibling. She didn’t have much time left in the shelter before she was scheduled for euthanization so we didn’t think twice about pulling her out immediately. Just two days after she arrived at our Texas foster’s house, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies - 2 of which are still looking for their forever homes - Vodka and Whiskey who are also posted for adoption. Sabre was an incredible young mother, but now it's time for her to start enjoying life for herself. Sabre is estimated to be just about a year old. She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed before going home. She is a very loving girl, and very friendly with all the animals and the humans that she mets. She walks well on a leash. She seems to be house-trained. Her foster says she is a great dog!! Sabre is currently in Texas but will be transported to NJ when adopted. Meet Dot - she can sure make a point! Dot is a sharpei mix that is full grown and currently weighs 31 pounds. We believe she is 1 to 2 years old and is amazingly sweet with humans!! Dot is great with other dogs in causal settings (like on a walk) but does have resource guarding issues with food and toys with other dogs. Given her resource guarding issues with other dogs we believe Dot should be in an home as an only dog or someone with experience/trained in resource guarding behavior. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Those eyes!!! Meet Sky, the one with the soulful eyes. We are guessing she’s a boxer/pit mix of some sort. She’s just around 11 months old (as of early November). She is good with everyone - dogs, cats, humans, you name it. This bright girl is already house trained and will be getting spayed soon. Little Sky was found by a good samaritan. She had cuts all over her belly and side and she was severely malnourished. She’s been in foster for the past 3 months and has now gained back her weight and is a happy, healthy girl who is ready for her chance at happiness in a forever home.
