Marlee is a fun name for a fun gal! I was living my life and having some fun, except no one got me "fixed" so the fun ended up with me being a single mother with 6 hungry mouths to feed!!! Who thinks that their fun will lead to months of feeding and my milk producers dragging on the ground :( I sure didn't... However, I LOVE MY BABIES!!! Now that they are on their own in foster homes, that is :) I am a fun gal, I love to play with my friends and I am great with other playful and fun dogs. I am a climber and a jumper so it may be why I was out playing in the first place.... but I digress... I am happy and sweet and I have the gorgeous soft, PLENTIFUL muzzle of a Shar Pei, with the energy of a lab or shepherd or who knows what other breed I am. I am a Shar Pei, so what else do I do?? (i mean besides look so so cute?) Yes, can you believe a purebred Shar Pei tied to a post... only in South Texas :(, that was 3 years ago.... But, I am one of the lucky ones! I was even adopted 3 years ago!!! However, my luck ran out when my owner died and his kids couldn't keep me.... SO here I am again, pleading for the right family to adopt me!!! I want to find a home who loves me and won't mind a little **crinkle, crinkle** in the middle of the night. I am only about 5 yrs old and 40#. I can't wait to be the queen of your home. Must know about my breed, we are great great dogs but have our little idiosyncrasies. Ace was originally adopted out of ACS as a small puppy, but was found completely emaciated and dumped. We were able to pull him into our rescue and he is now on his way to gaining back his weight.Other than being neglected our vet has found nothing wrong with Ace. He is an amazing sweet boy, and despite what he went through with his previous owners he is still such a loving, gentle boy. His soulful bright eyes and sweet smile melts the heart of everyone who meets him.Ace is crate and house trained, good with other dogs, kids and even cats. He's the happiest sweetest boy with an amazing disposition. Ace loves to snuggle and be near his people. Jabba is a sweet 12 year old man who loves people and gets along with dogs. He is also heartworm positive so a nice calm home would be great for him. His little wrinkles are adorable. Jabba does well taking daily walks. He is very much so a napper kind of guy with his foster dad. He also goes outside to potty routinely as well. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. Meet Bliss. She came to us with her dog buddy, both picked up as strays. Bliss has the most incredibly soft fur, cute wrinkles and very expressive eyes. She takes treats very gently, but also is good at catching them in the air! She sits nicely on command and is very friendly. She pulls a little on a leash, but a no-pull harness will cure that. She is a nice medium-sized dog...about 50 pounds? Bliss has been non-reactive to cats. When she got to see some in their wire kennels and one strongly hissed at her, she simply cocked her head, and went the other direction. Great reaction! She obviously likes some dogs, since she came here with her dog friend, but she is reactive to the other dogs as she "walks the gauntlet of barking dogs". This is fairly normal, but a meet-n-greet with your dog is recommended. Slow introductions that may take days or even weeks is NORMAL for both dogs and cats and will help ensure a happy future.If you are looking for a super soft and lovable friend, come meet Bliss! .........
