Story
MEET KITTY: Breed: Shar PeiAge: 3 yearsWeight: 42 lbs Kitty is a sweet and lovable Shar Pei looking for her forever home. At just 3 years old, she still has plenty of love to give! While she may be a bit shy and guarded at first, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up to new friends. A little patience and gentle guidance will help her feel safe and secure. Favorite Things: *Treats: Kitty is a big fan of pig ears and Canine Carryouts mini hotdog treats. Her response to "Show me pretty girl" will have her sit pretty for a snack! *Sleeping: She prefers cozying up at the foot of the bed to be close to her favorite humans. *Adventures: Kitty adores car rides and will happily go along for the journey, especially on sunny days. On those perfect weather days, she can spend hours outside soaking up the sun! Kitty has previously lived with kids and is well-versed in the joys of family life. However, she likes company so much that she isn’t fond of being left closed alone in a room.  Special Notes: *Kitty can be hesitant about going outside in the rain, so a little coaxing might be needed on rainy days. She doesn't want to get her paws wet, can you blame her?! *She will chase after cats that run, so a feline-free home is recommended. *She has had a litter of puppies in the past but is now spayed and ready to focus on her new life with you! *She’s done well with dogs of all sizes and walks well on a leash. *Kitty does not like crates, so a space where she can feel free and comfortable would be ideal. Currently, Kitty is working on improving her coat post-partum. With love and care, she will shine again as a beautiful girl. Kitty would thrive in a loving home with a family experienced in the Shar Pei breed, who can appreciate her unique quirks and give her the time she needs to adjust. With her affection for treats, sunbathing, and companionship, she’s ready to bring joy to your life. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Kitty, please consider completing an adoption application.  Kitty is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for spay surgery at one of our partner Veterinary offices. ADOPTION FEE: $350 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely.
