She is very energetic and will need someone to work on her manners and be consistent with her training. She loves to play with other dogs but will need one that is tolerant of her rough play and non stop fun. She loves to hang with her person and Is learning to play with toys, can be a mouthy player as she is still in puppy stage. She will need a special person to put up with her antics and someone who has experience with dogs, not good for a persons first dog. If you're looking for a friend to spoil, here she is.Please note we do not have a central kennel facility, all of our pets are located in foster homes. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.One minute you have an owner that takes you everywhere in his truck and lets you and your brother sleep on the bed or next to his recliner. Then the unimaginable happens and your dad won’t wake up. You can’t call for help, you can only watch over your daddy until someone stops by. After three days strangers started banging on the door and finally brake in. These are people you have never seen before. In your fear you both start barking and trying to protect dad. The next minute you have a catchpole choking your neck and throwing you in a kennel. You are separated from your brother and thrown in a loud kennel with strangers. You sit in a corner shaking with fear until you finally see a face you recognize. But you are so scared you keep barking and growling until you realize they are here to save you and your brother. This is Chula’s story. When we got Chula and Booger to the rescue they were still in shock from losing their dad. For the first two months they would only let Pat near them, since they knew her in their old life. Finally they started responding and were able to come to the kennels were they could interact with the workers and start looking for a new family. Booger was able to find a home and is living a remarkable life. Chula wasn’t understanding how she went from pampered housedog to living in a kennel by herself. A decision was made to place her with Chance and see if they could make a connection. The transformation of both dogs was incredible. Chance became sociable and would allow us to leash him and take him for walks with Chula. Chula enjoyed getting out of the kennel and playing. They started spending the day in our exercise areas playing and running. They have become social to new people and are ready for the right home. Chula is an older dog. She only has a few more years if she is lucky. She has been a house dog and has never pooped in her room. Ideally, we would love for Chance and Chula to find a home together. Unfortunately. we know how rare that opportunity is. Are you that special someone who has love to give to an older dog? She can be cautious around new people, but given a few minutes Chula will start working her magic on you. Chula’s ideal home will be an older family without small children and no cats or small dogs. She enjoys playing with toys and Chance in the rescue’s exercise yard. She would love and needs to have a home with a fenced yard with perhaps a companion dog so they can play and explore the yard together. Chula is a beautiful Shar Pei/lab mix who weighs 61.2 pounds. She has a thyroid issue, so she has to have thyroid pills twice a day. Are you wanting a partner to watch TV with? Chula is ready! Who thinks that their fun will lead to months of feeding and my milk producers dragging on the ground :( I sure didn't... However, I LOVE MY BABIES!!! Now that they are on their own in foster homes, that is :) I am a fun gal, I love to play with my friends and I am great with other playful and fun dogs. I am a climber and a jumper so it may be why I was out playing in the first place.... but I digress... I am happy and sweet and I have the gorgeous soft, PLENTIFUL muzzle of a Shar Pei, with the energy of a lab or shepherd or who knows what other breed I am. But, I am one of the lucky ones! I was even adopted 3 years ago!!! However, my luck ran out when my owner died and his kids couldn't keep me.... Ace was originally adopted out of ACS as a small puppy, but was found completely emaciated and dumped. We were able to pull him into our rescue and he is now on his way to gaining back his weight.Other than being neglected our vet has found nothing wrong with Ace. He is an amazing sweet boy, and despite what he went through with his previous owners he is still such a loving, gentle boy. His soulful bright eyes and sweet smile melts the heart of everyone who meets him.Ace is crate and house trained, good with other dogs, kids and even cats. He's the happiest sweetest boy with an amazing disposition. Ace loves to snuggle and be near his people. He is almost 60lbs, has a slender, muscular build and enjoys long walks, hiking adventures, plushy toys, and even enjoys his travel time in the car! He’s been doing great in his dog training classes and is a proud graduate of our Cooperative Care Specialty Class. Hank is neutered, microchipped, knows basic training foundations, is up to date on vaccinations and now just needs a home and family to call his own! This awesome 8-year-old pup will thrive in an adult home or one with older children (12+). Hank requests a cat free environment and isn’t one for energetic playtimes with other dogs, but he may enjoy the company of another calm, older canine companion.
