Meet Piña! 🐾❤️ Piña is an 8-year-old Shar-Pei/American Bulldog mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. She’s been a beloved companion her whole life, but due to changes in her family’s living situation, she now finds herself looking for a new home to love. This gentle gal adores people and is wonderful with kids and other dogs. She’s more of a couch potato than a marathon runner, happiest when snuggled up with her humans or relaxing in the yard. Piña loves being outdoors, so a fenced-in yard where she can safely explore would be ideal. She knows her name and comes when called, and since her former home was Spanish-speaking, she may even respond to Spanish commands! Piña does have some kennel anxiety in the shelter, so a sturdy crate and lots of love will help her feel secure in a new home. On walks, she does best with a front-clip harness to help with her gentle pulling, and she enjoys strolling at a steady, relaxed pace. After losing both her lifelong home and her canine companion, Piña is ready for a soft landing — a family who will give her the stability, comfort, and love she deserves. If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate, and loyal friend, Piña is waiting to meet you. Pina is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. She is quite athletic and would have fun doing outdoor activities, though she has been known to make it over a fence or two in her day. Wednesday is the perfect mix of playful and snuggly and would be an excellent companion to a myriad of homes that are looking to add a furry companion.

If youre patient with me&#44 I promise Ill bloom into the sweetest&#44 most affectionate companion. Once I trust you&#44 I love being close&#44 soaking up gentle pets and quiet moments together.<br/><br/>I walk nicely on a leash and treats are definitely the way to my heart. I already know how to sit&#44 and Im very eager to learn more if youre willing to teach me. I can be a bit unsure around other dogs since I didnt get to socialize much&#44 so Id need to meet any furry siblings first to be sure were a good match. When I feel comfortable&#44 though&#44 my puppy side comes out-Im playful&#44 loving&#44 and full of joy. Nobody knows how to wear a hat quite like I do&#44 dont you think? Hi there&#44 Im Ava! A sweet and silly girl that cant wait for her forever family. Thankfully&#44 all the kind people at the shelter have given me so much to be happy about. Ive learned what it means to be house trained&#44 how to share my toys&#44 and Ive experienced what it means to be loved&#44 really and truly loved by a human. <br/><br/>I want so much to trust every human I meet right away. But I need a little time to get to know someone and really develop a sense of connection and love for that human. The shelter experience lends itself to a lot of unfamiliar people needing to interact with me often&#44 and I get nervous and scared around all that attention. I prefer slower introductions&#44 getting to know the person&#44 and finding that I can trust that no one wants to hurt me. Once there is patience and understanding between us&#44 Im a little doll. Ive got quite the personality&#44 and I want so much to be a part of a family and feel included in activities.<br/><br/>I am also kennel trained&#44 and I like to sleep in my quiet little spot. Ive been soaking up the love in a foster home recently. When Im not snuggled up with Foster Dad&#44 I enjoy playing with my toys and snoozing the day way. I absolutely adore squeaky toys&#44 and Im a big fan of car rides&#44 too. Starbucks Pup Cup anyone?<br/><br/>Before I fully commit to a family&#44 Id really love to meet everyone to ensure we all have that special connection.
