Story
Summer is a delightful medium-sized mix who is eagerly searching for her forever home! This gentle girl has a calm and loving disposition that makes her the perfect companion for a serene household. She can be a bit shy at first, so any kids in the home should be old enough to go slow with her in the beginning. Once she warms up, which doesn`t take long, she is a total sweethear! She is incredibly gentle and affectionate, always ready for a cuddle or a quiet moment by your side. Her calm demeanor makes her an excellent companion for anyone seeking a peaceful and loving dog! What I Need In a Home:* Older children recommended

Story
Meet Chubbs! This big guy lives up to his name and means business—his main priority in life is food, and he’ll guard it, so no other dogs or a food-separated setup is required. He’s got a playful side and enjoys interacting with other dogs, but he can come off a bit dominant, so a slow introduction and ideally a submissive female sibling would be best. Chubbs is around middle-aged, weighing in at a chunky 70lbs! His age and breed are a mystery, but he’s a loving, goofball at heart. He spent a lot of time in a kennel before coming to LOLA’s, so he may need some patience as he adjusts to home life and any new behaviors that could surface. Apply online at (www.lolasrescue.com)! You can email Info@lolasrescue.com anytime with questions pertaining to animals in our care.  **Animals at the rescue center are available to meet during regular hours as listed on our website. ** ##2038123##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!  Meet Burrow the Shar Pei!  Hello there! My name is Burrow, and I'm a one-year-old Shar Pei with a heart full of love and a knack for Feng Shui! I've been on quite an adventure so far, and now I'm looking for a forever home where I can share all my puppy love. I'm your typical Shar Pei puppy—lazy yet playful. I enjoy running around and having fun with my foster siblings, but I also know the importance of taking relaxing naps in the warm sun. Speaking of Feng Shui, I've got a little talent for it—I like to rearrange shoes to bring love and luck into your home (although I promise, I haven't chewed any!). While I'm still young and learning, I haven't had much formal training yet. I'm currently working on my leash manners and learning basic commands like "sit" (especially when blueberries are involved—I can't resist!). Every day, I'm improving and learning a lot at my foster home. I'm a social butterfly who adores people, and I'm great with potty training and other dogs. I dream of finding a family who will cuddle with me and shower me with kisses—I have plenty of those to give in return! I'm up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Interested in meeting me, apply today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2101762##

Story
From Foster: Braxton is a spunky fellow! He is always ready to play and loves toys. He is curious and observant and will make a great guard dog and playful companion. He’s a fast learner and can sleep through the night, going 9 hours with no wake ups or accidents! You’ll be thankful you added Braxton to your family this Thanksgiving! This pup was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2212244##

From Foster: Benjamin is a magnet for laps. If there is someone to cuddle with, he is headed your way! He loves to play and loves his toys, but adores cuddling most of all. He is a quick learner and is almost fully potty trained. He is able to go 9 hour overnight in the kennel with no accidents. He is curious and smart and eager to please. Story
Luna is a five-year-old boxer with lots of love to give! She is a very energetic and playful dog. Luna has been previously attacked on a walk, so other dogs make her nervous. She is potty trained, goofy, loves humans, loves pets, play, and learning, and would do best an only dog with loving caretakers. Luna is allergic to poultry and needs anti-itch shots every 3 months or daily pills to avoid her getting red, inflamed, burning, itchy, and very irritated spots all over her body. Due to Luna's breed, she also needs antiacid medication. When she is on both, she feels so much better and enjoys her life so much more. Luna likes to spend her days playing, receiving pets, and taking naps. She is very smart and trainable, and definitely wants to bond with her person. Her cleverness can sometimes lead to her being a little mischievous, but with her new trainer, we are working on self-control, calmness, enrichment, and making good choices. Luna's mom just passed and is now hoping to find her next loving home. Luna will come with some free training sessions with her behavior specialist. Her owner's family is waiving the adoption fee. This is a courtesy post for them. If you would like to adopt please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  ##2204779##

Meshack can't wait to leave the shelter behind and decompress in a loving home. He's a worried guy who needs a gentle approach and the ability to go at his own pace as he gets to know his new family and routine. Once he's feeling comfortable, Meshack finds comfort in the people he trusts and likes to sit in his favorite people's laps and give kisses. Still young, Meshack will benefit from daily exercise and having a variety of toys to play with. His previous family noted that he loves basketballs! Our volunteers have told us that he is calm and gentle, enjoys spending the time on his walks to take in the sights and sounds, knows sit and shake, and takes treats gentlyWith his love for basketball, perhaps Meshack is a Denver Nuggets fan who will enjoy sitting next to you watching their games! What a cutie! Meshack will only be rehomed to a family with children 10 or older. Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 56 Age: 2yrs 9mths 1wks
