My Adoption Fee is Waived!Meet Patrick, a sweet and sensitive Sharpei mix with a heart of gold. The shelter environment has him feeling pretty overwhelmed, so he may come across as a bit shy in his kennel. But get him outside for a walk or into a playgroup, and you`ll start to see his true self shining through! Once Patrick feels safe, he’s known to be quite the funny, playful guy, showing off a charming personality that will make you smile. Patrick is looking for a patient adopter who understands that he needs time and encouragement to build his confidence. With a little patience and a lot of love, Patrick will be an amazing companion ready to bring joy to a quiet, loving home. If you`re looking to change a life, Patrick may be the perfect fit!Come see more photos of me here: Patrick has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. Story
Meet Damascus! a 2 and a half year-old Bear Coat Shar Pei with more wrinkles than a seasoned sage and a personality that's even more complex. With his majestic, teddy bear-like appearance, he’s a self-proclaimed expert in napping, snacking, and giving side-eye to anyone who dares disturb his royal rest. His impressive coat, as soft as it is stylish, serves as the perfect camouflage for his undercover operation as a couch potato and professional blanket hog. He enjoys long walks to the fridge and leaving his owners wondering if they’ve ever seen a dog so dramatically aloof. Not just a pretty face—he’s got the charm, the sass, and the ability to make you laugh every time he wiggles his butt for a treat. Damascus is fostering in the Houston, TX area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Tootsie Roll, an adorable English Bulldog with a heart as sweet as her name. Tootsie Roll is a special pup, as she has Spina Bifida, a condition that affects her bladder and bowel control. Despite this, Tootsie Roll walks just fine, radiating joy with every step. To manage her incontinence, Tootsie Roll wears a diaper, a routine that, for those unfamiliar, is not as daunting as it may seem. It requires less than half an hour of care each day, and the more time without a diaper, the better off she is. This lovable Bulldog is, otherwise, a "normal" English Bulldog, complete with the charming quirks that make the breed so beloved. Tootsie Roll isn't a fan of hot weather, but the joys of diapers mean that outings are more flexible, especially during hot or rainy days. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to her condition, Tootsie Roll's resilience shone through, and she is now ready to bring joy to a loving home. This happy and social girl adores attention, playtime, and, yes, she snores loud! Tootsie Roll would thrive in a home with another dog companion, relishing in playful interactions. However, humans willing to engage in tug-of-war and toss games will also find her to be the perfect playmate. Caring for a dog with Spina Bifida involves managing skin care and bowel and bladder functions, but this can be navigated through various approaches. Tootsie Roll's foster parent has found success by using a pen at night and during work hours to give her diaper-free time. For those interested in welcoming Tootsie Roll into their lives, the adoption process is conveniently available online at http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/. The adoption fee of $500 covers her spaying, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. This fee is waived for a home with a human also dealing with Spina Bifida, recognizing the unique connection that can be formed. To gain insights into caring for a dog with Spina Bifida, there's a helpful Facebook group dedicated to English Bulldogs with the condition. Additionally, for information on bowel management, the website https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/bowel-management-incontinent-pets/ can be a valuable resource. Tootsie Roll is more than a pet; she's a testament to resilience and the capacity for love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special Bulldog, she is eagerly waiting for her perfect forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
Introducing London! She is a beautiful boxer/American bulldog mix (per dna test) who was out of time in the shelter. Her estimated dob is 3/1/24 and should be around 50 to 55lbs full grown. London is doing well.  She is a typical puppy who needs rules and boundaries. London needs proper introductions to strangers.  She is easily redirected to her toys and has been good about not chewing things in the house  She does like to dig a little and explore the yard.  She is doing great with the other pack members in the house and loves her visits to another foster to play with a group of youngsters!.  She is an exhuberant player. And London really likes the water! We are walking in the neighborhood daily.  She is also learning basic commands. She is now on to the Intermediate obedience class and is picking up the commands quickly.  London stays in a crate at night and when her foster mom is away from the house. Potty training has been conquered. And London uses a dog door.  Car rides are also going well.  Cats are unknown. London's wish list: 1.   secure yard 2.   no small children 3.   Obedience training ongoing 4.   Daily walks 5.   Continued socialization   6.   A playful dog friend would be good too!   Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Meet Fido, a senior resident of our shelter. This independent soul is known for his goofy antics that never fail to bring a smile to our faces. He`s always curious about what`s happening around him, constantly exploring his surroundings with a zest that belies his age. Despite his love for adventure, Fido is also a friend to all. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and a happy bark, making him a favorite among the shelter staff. Fido`s friendly demeanor and independent spirit make him a perfect companion for someone looking for a pet with a personality as big as his heart. Adopt Fido and let his goofy, curious, and friendly nature bring joy to your life. Fido likes his independence and does not always like his legs touched, so we recommend that any children in his new home are age 10 or older so they can understand his needs. We also recommend that his new owners have experience with dog ownership or are familiar with the needs of his breed. He is selective of the other dogs he shares his space with, so we will be requiring dog introductions to potential adopters who already have a canine companion at home to see if Fido and his new friend will be a good match.Adoption Price: $150Monthly Promo Applies
