Story
Lobo is blooming! This is the boy you adopt if your pups have been asking for a friend. He adores other dogs. He will run and wrestle all day long. He will make you laugh with his antics. He loves to help with the gardening and will find all the sticks in the yard to pick up and carry around and will pull some tasty leaves off plants at his level So how about the downside of Lobo? Well he came to us from a breeder in Oklahoma that was shut down by the humane society. He is just a baby still but he had minimal contact with kind people early in his life. He is still scared to be pet but is coming up for some chin scratches especially if food is involved. He is finally taking treats from his foster mom and dad's hands which is a huge milestone for this guy.  He easily shares his toys and food with other dogs. We have discovered he loves going for walks but walks better if he has a buddy with him. He has the most gorgeous merle brush coat ( I just wish he loved us petting him) Lobo sleeps on a dog bed in his foster's bedroom. He has never tried to get up on the bed as much as we beg him too! He does love to sleep on the sofa especially when no one is watching. This boy has finally had his eyes done and a mini brow lift and OMG he can see. He has the most gorgeous green brown eyes. Lobo's forever home will definitely need someone who is patient and will give him time to come around. He will need another dog or 10 :) in his forever home who love to play. He is dog door trained so a yard would be a huge plus.  He loves riding in the car and has become a huge fan of hiking with his foster family. We truly believe the key to winning his guy over is consistent walks or hikes and LOTS of treats!        January 4, 2025, 6:00 pm

Story
This tiny guy might be the cutest thing ever. He was purchased from a Shar Pei breeder in AZ. He was living with 4 children. He spent most of his time outdoors but this guy is ready to jump right up on the couch and snuggle! He is great with the other dogs in the home. He is already initiating play. Clearly, this guy will not need entropion surgery. He has the most gorgeous eyes! His original name was Bear, but does not seem to be responding to that, so the foster has settled on Jagger. Jagger is a perfect example of a bone mouth Shar pei! Even down to the perfect curly-Q tail. This little guy had his first bath and by the looks of the water it might have been the first ever. Now that he is all shiny and clean he is prancing around the house. He was an absolute gentleman in the tub. He sat patiently waiting while his foster mom went and got a towel to dry him off. Mr Smarty pants has already mastered sit in his first day of training! He will do just about anything for cheese. For all you Simpsons fans we are pretty sure Santa’s Little Helper looks like a larger version of Jagger!January 29, 2025, 10:51 pm

Story
Hersh is coming our way from New Mexico. He was found as a stray and on the wrong side of porcupine. Poor guy had quills all of his face and chest. Ouch!! This guy is so sweet! He is fabulous with other dogs. His foster siblings are so excited for his neuter appt as Hersh has been a bit too exuberant in his affection for his new friends! He has met all the small children and has been deemed kid approved. He rides great in the car and has beautiful house manners. He is working on his crates skills and spent the night like a champ in his crate. We have seen no food issues and he may actually like food more than he does his foster siblings.  Our boy has been neutered and had lower lid entropion. He looks even more gorgeous and his foster brothers are also quite excited for his neuter. His foster mom gives this guy a 10/10 score on personality and states he literally could live in any home! Hersh is fostering in Phoenix, Arizona.  January 30, 2025, 1:14 pm

Jersey is about 35 pounds and she came in with Willow. She is available separately or together, but would do best with other dogs in the home. Jersey was raised with kids and other dogs, is a beautiful fawn brushcoat. She is nervous around new people for about 10 minutes and then allows petting and relaxes. She is fostering in Tucson, AZ. We will post more info as we learn it.January 29, 2025, 7:52 pm

Story
Willoh is an approximately 4 year old female that was surrendered when her owner had to change living situations. She is afraid and vocal around strangers, but a total sweetheart around those she knows. She was raised with kids and other dogs. Willow came to us with one eye (right) missing and skin sewn shut. That doesn't seem to bother her at all! Willoh can be grumbly when scared, but is kissy and loving with her trusted people. She knows 'sit'! We will post more about her as we learn. She is about 39 pounds and is a cool tan/black color mix. She is fostering in Tucson, AZJanuary 31, 2025, 12:00 am

Story
Hey, Hey, Hey Yogi is in the house. This poor boy was found as a stray in Phoenix AZ. He was microchipped and was registered...that's where the happy story ends. Yogi's family never returned any of the shelter phone calls so he quickly found himself on the list no dog ever wants to be on....euthanasia. Well there was no way we were letting that happen to this sweet boy! He is fabulous with other dogs and definitely likes to play. The 1 year old foster boys in the home were able to get him to romp around the yard. He loves his food which makes him being so thin even worse..his family was clearly not feeding him enough or on a regular basis. He was a rockstar in the car on his drive from Phoenix to Tucson. He walks great on a leash and would really benefit from some regular walks to improve his musculature. We will have our vet take a look at his ears but they clearly have also been neglected. We are super excited to get his boy healthy and on the road to a much better life.  For all you Yogi Bear fan's this boy "Is smarter than the av-er-age bear"! Yogi has spoken and his future home will need a dog door. He is happiest when he has access to come and go outside.January 26, 2025, 5:35 pm

Story
Poppy is a Beagle mix. She may be around 5 years old or so. We’re not sure. She came into foster 2 years ago after being pulled from the euthanasia list at County. She was going to be euthanized for biting a volunteer who mishandled her. She has not even so much growled at her foster family. She’s very skidding, but she’s learned to trust so much more since she was brought into the rescue. She was terrified of everyone & everything. She’s been in a foster home with other dogs, but she really should be an only dog. She seems terrified of the other dogs often, but she will get into a scuffle with them out of fear, so she should be an only dog. She also seems to really want to get closer and snuggle more with her foster mom, but with all the other dogs she really is too scared to. She’ll sneak up when the other dogs aren’t around, but she’ll take off when the other dogs come around. Poppy has been in a house with cats, and she doesn’t seem interested in them. She doesn’t bark, growl, sniff or stare at them. They have always been kept separated, but can see each other. If you have a cat, I would be careful on the introduction and not leave them alone together until you are positive they will be safe. Poppy could really use some basic training. She is terrified of the leash & even having a collar. Her foster thinks she was dragged on a leash & that was when she bit the person at County. It will take patience and time to help her with this. She uses the doggy door. She’ll also hold it, if she’s locked in while the landscaper or pool person is at the foster’s house. She has never had an accident at the foster family’s home. She’s very gentle when taking a treat. She’s used to free feeding and she doesn’t fight over food (resource guarding). She will actually sit back and wait to eat after others eat. She’s also patient to wait for her treats. The foster taught her to sit for treats. She will wait in a seated position until her turn. Poppy is super sweet and just needs a chance to be an only dog and be spoiled rotten

Story
Foster or Adopter wanted..... Meet Joss, Joss is 3 years old, shar-pei mix, she is very sweet and curious, she is timid/shy when you first meet her, have some patience and she will be your best friend. She went out on a day trip with a volunteer friend, she walks amazing on leash, she always took her treats gently, and has no reaction to other dogs or people riding bikes, or joggers, she loves to give you kisses once she warms up. She enjoyed going hiking. She enjoys playing with toys and her doggie friends at the boarding facility she is currently living at until her furever family comes. Not sure how she is with cats, children 10+ recommended since she is a bit timid/shy at first. Joss is microchipped, up to date on her vaccines and spayed Joss is so gentle, she would love a home that will allw them to flourish. Provide her with consistency, security, and love on her terms when she is ready. She truly is amazing!!
