Story
Newman is sensitive, watchful, a bit intense, playful with his peers and sensitive to what humans through his way. He's a cool dog, ready for dog savvy folks willing to give him a bit of patience, lots of love, ongoing socialization - he loves other dogs and playtime! He's handsome, frisky and wiry good fun. Newman is not a boy for farm life.... he has a taste for chickens. We also know that Newman is not comfortable around young children and toddlers - so ideally an adult home (not expecting to have children) would be best for Newman. He needs collar and leash work and is a little more independent - he take a little time to warm up to people, but he does and is a sweetheart. Newman is a very good boy: intelligent, sensitive, compliant, and wants to please. He is friendly with people and dogs; he is submissive and avoids trouble, and I think he'd love another dog he could play with. He loves exploring in the yard. He also is perfect crated at night. He readily goes in and sleeps silently all night. He has had no house training mishaps. Newman is cautious and a perfect gentleman, accommodating everyone. He is a special dog, quiet, watchful, friendly, energetic but not manic, and can be very loving. He will make a loving and devoted companion. He is from a group of 18 dogs from a rescue in Mexico that fell on hard times, came to California with 90 dogs and their plans for a new location feel through. These dogs (and more!) were in desperate need of a place to go. So... Milo to the rescue! 20 more are headed to the Milo Sanctuary. These dogs were well cared for, and they have never been alone. They always had other dogs with them, and are very dog friendly. They are also very people friendly and love attention and seek affection! We know they would be happiest in a home with a friend or at least another dog in the home and lots of people time. As long as they get plenty of people time and aren't home alone for long stretches of time - they will be very happy. Please consider giving a home to one or two of these dogs. $400 adoption fee. $600 for two.

Story
Kirby is a gorgeous 6 yo scruffy terrier mix, with the most beautiful amber eyes. He is approximately 50 lbs and one of the most photogenic dogs we have at Jelly's Place. Kirby is a happy dog who loves to play with squeaky toys, take walks and relax on the couch with his favorite hoomans. He loves to dig for buried treasure and will let you dress him up in costumes for the different holidays. He is smart, walks great on a leash, is food motivated and eager to please. Kirby can be a little nervous when meeting new people. However, once he knows you, he is loving, affectionate and the best company. Kirby is a staff and volunteer family. One volunteer has called him "the love of your life kind of dog." The ideal family for Kirby would be a single person or couple, with dog experience. Kirby would make a great walking companion, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet, amuse himself with a toy or just relax until you are ready to take a break. Kirby would prefer to be the only animal in the family, but we don't think that is too much to ask. He has so much love to give and will thrive in the right home! . Kirby is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted. Kirby's adoption fee is sponsored by a Jelly Place's volunteer.
