Story
Meet Kitty Cat, the brown tabby medium haired girlie. Kitty Cat came into the Shelter because the previous guardian was moving and were unable to continue caring for her. She came in with her “brother” Mito but could be adopted separately. In her previous home, Kitty Cat interacted with men, women and children under 12 years old. Her favorite activities were sleeping and eating. Kitty Cat was described as a shy girl but food is a way to her heart. Kitty Cat reliably used her litterbox in her previous home. She has been around other dogs and cats and, with a slow, thoughtful introduction, may do well in a home with one (or two!). As Kitty Cat has experience outdoors, a home with indoor/outdoor access may be a fit after a period of acclimation. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Meet Joey, the gray & white male cat. Joey came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after his previous guardian could no longer care for him. Upon intake, Joey was tentative to interact with staff and volunteers but with time and patience, he warmed up. Staff and volunteers describe him as such a sweet guy who enjoys his Churro and leans into people’s hands for TLC. Joey came into the Shelter with other cats but we are not so sure of his relationships with them. A home with a resident cat may be a fit provided there is a slow introduction and observation. We do not have any history of Joey with children or dogs. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week!
